Nice style! I was like man he's pretty fast then I saw the other angle and I was like ah ok :D !
What about that triwave vs quad in such conditions?

Land based wins hands down for me. Go pro doesn't do it justice!

That's what I reckon. I've got some footage from the go pro on that day of waves way bigger and big turns or aerials that really look lame from the go pro. The stills look good but the video makes it look like 2 foot junk

Mast mount is the problem - no relief. Boom mount (back of boom, facing forward and across the sailor) captures the wave better. Nice riding btw.

DJI Mavic Air just came out, I think it would be pretty sweet for windsurfing, too bad its so expensive.

I'm a big fan of the triwave over quads in all conditions. Generally I think triwaves are more driving and quads are looser

Exactly, so no problem tightening up the turns when it's powerful?
How about wave 360s?
At the top turn easy to recover over white water?

If the land based camera had the zoom in it would be great viewing.
Never rated mast Mount for GoPro makes you car sic watching it....I prefer chest mount for GoPro...that's my 2cents..great wave sailing though??

The camera used was an iPhone 7 on max zoom, no editing was done before sending it to mr.G

i was about 150metres away up on the headland which gives a great viewing spot when the swell is on

I think the mast mount makes some great jumping shots, it's probably best used with a combination of angles.
Look at Eleanor's

Really? Its faster then Mavic Pro and should be able to handle 20 knots, i thought we are talking about wave sailing not speed sailing. Anyone lookin to get a DJI Mavic Air? or is it just me..

Go pro's can get some good shots, you just have to point them at someone else.

You can get pretty good results with a GoPro but positioning is critical. Mast mounted it needs to be up between the last two battens and looking back a bit, in front of the boom looking back captures the wave better. This was from a couple of days ago at Phillip Island in Vic in pretty tiny 1-2 foot and I am still on my L plates in the waves. Just stick with Wide angle, Super View distorts things too much. Shot with a GoPro Session 4 1080 60fps.
