Hi,
I am just wondering how lonely it is going to be at Umina tomorrow at about 10am?
Anyone? ..or will the swell be too easterly?

Sorry I am working, but it should be good. Direction of wind is the right angle so you should have a nice time, just watch out for the sand banks that are there.
Good luck. Maybe some of the other boys will be there for you.

Yes, maybe; or I could just keep going and go to Hawks Nest (Jimmy's Beach).

I just don't like the extra long drive in foul weather..

Not much wind up at Nelson Bay/Hawks Nest at the moment and it's absolutely pi$$ing down

I'd go to Toowoon bay. In fact if it wasn't for the mortgage that i have to pay off (and the second mortgage i'll be taking out to get a new severne sail) i would be there to join you. As it is I will be at work.

With the outside swell at 3m I expect that I would trash all my gear at Toowoon Bay.

I would need a third mortgage to replace it all.Can you read directional spectra?

Here is the current one for 10kms off Dee Why.

That is a lot of energy, but it has a lot of chop (the stuff towards the edge).

Today was not great, just barely enough (15knts) from 10am to noon then it went East at 1pm and was completely glassy by 1:30pm. Looks like the wind stayed in all day in Sydney.
5 kites and me.

Shout out to Marty, nice to meet you..

Saw you sailing on the Umina SLSC surf cam and it looked reasonable but not strong conditions and also a bit messy surf wise.

It did seem to drop after 1pm but sure did kick back in later. Some big gusts indeed....

Hope it was worth the trip up. The kite boys there are pretty good guys.

The Umina wind was not the same as Norah Head:
