Hi Guys and Girls,
Nationals registration is up and running at the above site.
If you are planning to come please get in and register early.
Good forecast this weekend and Monday if anyone is around to test the water!

I just turned 18 and was told i would be able to enter the juniors as well as the opens is this possible ?
Regarding multiple entries.
The long history going back to 1988, maybe further, is NO isn't not allowable.
However it has been tried a few times since and we have learnt each time that
it does create problems. At times massive problems.
If it were to be allowable then judging often becomes an absolute nightmare because
you immediately reduce the pool of judges to call from at any one moment,
as those who enter two categories are often in the water or preparing to do so.
Also it's frowned on that a person judge in their own division/s.
If too many competitors enter in two categories then it ends up being the head judge
will take anyone at all to judge because there are simply not enough judges.
This can effect the quality of judging significantly and also puts a lot of pressure on those
who don't enter into two categories to sit judging heat after heat, after heat.
Which also effects the quality of judging and is somewhat unfair on them to be pressured to do
more than their share of judging.
Then it comes to putting the draw together and actually running the event.
A person in two categories needs to be put in the middle of the draw in both events because
you can't expect to hold up heats so the competitor is able to return to the contest area ready to start again.
Then depending on the numbers in the draw after a couple/ few rounds are completed if a person is NOT knocked out
in at least one category then head judge will be rescheduling the heat order to stop a person slowing up the event.
The long history going back to 1988, maybe further, is NO isn't not allowable.
Wow. Triple negative. Didn't think they existed anymore
Attention all Competitors/Family /friends
Northcoast Holiday Parks Lennox Head are a proud sponsor to our Australian Nationals in November 2015.
They are kindly donating cash/support and are looking at becoming the major sponsor and naming rights for the "State of Origin wavesailing event"for next year and into the future .In my opinion they are the premium caravan park in the area 5 minutes walk from town offering a range of accomadation, with surf beach over the road and beautiful Lake Ainsworth at your doorstep of your tent .
Can we please all get behind our sponsor and look into booking your accomdation ,so we can secure this sponsor for the longterm and give this great event a secure future.see the link below .
Thanks Regards Matt

Pretty much all the opens would also be eligible for the masters. If everyone double entered there would be about 5 people left to judge. Should be ok for the odd youngster to give them a bit more time on the water though.
Agree with the above comments regarding the entries.
I think other than the juniors and youngsters please try to pick only one division.
In some more good news Northern Rivers Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery have just chipped in a significant sponsorship as well.
We are now hopefully able to put some proper prize money on the table for the Opens and Womens at least.
Cheers,
Martin
ps - been firing the last couple of days. I will put some pics up tonight of the local team scaring the sharks away.

They should give a gift voucher to the ugliest competitor.
Haha - too much pressure on the head judge....
Here's Matt Ruthven enjoying the last couple of days at Flat Rock and Cudgen with a decent seabreeze
Guys,
Just a reminder that early bird rego closes on the 1st of November.
If you are definitely coming please get in and register prior to that date for the cheaper rate.
You will be able to register on the day but its much easier for the organisers and judges if you get in early.
Cheers,
Martin
One last one of Pete, the day actually got better after these photos at about 4:30, cloud cover lifted, the wind lifted, Gary went sailing and Pete changed down (no images, I drove home to get my sail repaired and mourn my broken mast.
)
Curac, forecast looking good, SE Sunday 20kts for then back to NE mid week.
NE have been pretty good last few weeks, sailed there yesterday lit on 5.0 all arvo.
Looking forward to a nationals cross shore on both tacks in the one location. Sick
Hey russh,
looking at forecast now I'd bring you lighter wind set up as southerly is not as strong as first forecast, later in the week when wind swings
back to N should produce decent wind.
I use 89ltr 5.0 most down there in N winds and a 99 for light conditions.
So if you can only fit one board 92 ish would cover it all.
