Maybe u guys should learn the wave rules and not gybe upwind of someone who caught the wave from out the back and think you caught it.
You did this more than one day.
Maybe sailboard headquarters could give u a copy of the wave rules when they give u your gay stickers.
Do it again and I'll just steam roll you.
There's heaps of waves for everyone yet the Victorians come to robe and pull this ****.
Also weren't you meant to be quarantining, yet you were telling everyone **** that were not doing that.
Typical vicco arrogance!!
I can't speak for others, but if any were dropping in, that's unfortunate and annoying. However I feel I should respond for my son. He is aware of wave sailing rules and who has priority. Being a young kid, he has plenty take his waves, and knows how annoying it is.
On the swell where he initiated the gybe & copped the crude spray, he never had any intention of taking that one in. He was going to drop back on the one behind. He just wanted to get around early and be prepared, rather than gybing at the last minute, risk falling and missing out on the wave behind.
He has a weak arm which lowers his gybe success rate, especially when it's that windy. However he was never going to try to take that wave you were sitting on.
He's doing really well just to be out on the water with the arm weakness and neck brace. He was obviously rattled when he got abused so aggressively, as he had no intentions of interfering with you on your wave. Perhaps it was as a result of built up frustration from other incidents, but my son, nor I , do not habitually drop in and then take other's waves.
I understand you thought he was trying to take your wave, but he wasn't. If any other(s) were dropping in, that's certainly unfortunate, but he wasn't doing this , and I can't respond for others. I had a number of sailors gybe/tack upwind of me, but they never interfered with my waves. Although if they had, I would understand that becomes frustrating.
On a lighter note , it was nice to see some familiar faces and as well as plenty of new faces.
Great video, good to see some younger sailors
I love travelling over to sail there, plenty of room for a number of sailor of hundreds of metres. Leave the agro to somewhere else - it's not Margaret River

If you were there how about just having a chat to them at the beach about it rather than aggressively responding to them on an Internet forum?
its windsurfing
and the mention of margaret river but the next poster... Margie's it's pretty essential everyone follows the rules or someone will end up too deep and get very hurt. If it's a softer beach break just have a chat to them.
happy new year
Nothing worse than getting dropped in on but a big difference between someone tacking or gybing on the same wave and trying to take it off you.
Labelling all Victorians arrogant and clueless wave sailors, and homophobic slur against out local shop isn't going to help your cause.
Like Bowsa said, maybe next time just a friendly chat on the beach to keep the peace. Been a tough year for everyone.
Hahaha You and me sharing! to be fair picked this one up at least 2km out to sea or maybe I just tacked onto it last minute ?? either way both got flogged!!!
