The 1401 is the worst foil I have ever ridden in head high swell and the Spitfire 900 is absolutely crap for dock start, everything has context.
Depends on what you want to do. And where you're at in your journey. I'm an experienced intermediate.Marginal wind it's the png 1010 as it gets up early but still gives a bit of glide and manoeuvrability. The 1300 has a bit lower wind threshold for getting going but lacks looseness.
If there's just enough wind to get it going then the sf 1100 is fantastic as it has more speed and lots of glide.
More wind and waves it'll be the sf840. When I was a bit less experienced my fave was the png 910. It did heaps of things really well and was a fantastic all rounder.
I've have and had a lot of Axis foil wings, sold some only to buy again later eg HPS 930.
I am only a very average windwinger however, in my opinion none are bad they just have different performance criteria so it becomes relative to ones skill, intended purpose and personal preference.
It really depends on what you want to do. I'm a big fan of the V1 ART 899 and 999. That V1 999 is my most ridden foil. That said, the V2s are definitely an evolution. I have a 939 and I really like. It does sit between the 899 and 999 and doesn't replace either. I prefer the squared off tips over the pointy tips of the V2s, but there's no question the V2 is more refined and forgiving.
Do you suppose the 939 is a like replacement for the 900SF as far as range and low end goes for 95kg rider?

Nope. Not at all. Funny you mention that because the other day I was on my 939 and a 62L freestyle board and my friend was on a SF900 and a smaller mid-length board. We switched a few times. These foils are very different. the SF900 is much liftier and can get going in lighter winds. The 939 is much faster, but even though is has a bigger span, it has considerably less area and the tips are really narrow. The SF900 can lift with a steeper angle of attack without stalling. The 939 will stall if engaged at that slow speed and sharp angle. The 939 glides much better, but has a higher stall speed. The SF840 might feel closer to the 939 in terms of lift, but the SF has a much lower aspect ratio. IMO, if you have an SF900 and want to try a V2, get a 999.

Thanks for the feedback. Not too surprised to hear that, but was kinda hoping it could fill that niche. Actually still may work if its low end is comparable to the 840.
I have used many axis foils and still do. for pure wing foiling over a wide range of conditions, I honestly have to recommend the new art v2 foils. I have sold my sf900 and am now riding the 999. I started on the hps 1050 and 930, Have got a 1201 and 1401 in the family that is for light wind winning and flat water paddling.
I think they offer a very wide range of foils for many disciplines so it varies on what you want to do with foiling, id say Armstrong is similar in the range but for me price is a large factor so axis trumps with 20% plus cheaper foils. Im also 95kg and the 90cm high mod carbon mast is exactly what I want.
Shxx I am the same weight. Also holding the SF900 and ART999. I guess I have to switch to the V2, to get both... Glide and Speed and Turnability add the breachability!?
