Hi everyone,
A few months ago, I came up with an idea that could significantly enhance performance in kite foiling, wind foiling, and wing foiling. This innovation has the potential to make foiling accessible to almost everyone even in very light wind conditions.
According to the theory, it could allow an 85 kg rider to foil once their board reaches a speed of just 5 knots.
At the same time, this solution could enable the possibility for expert riders to achieve even higher speeds in strong wind conditions. Along with that, it would also eliminate the need for the pumping process to initiate foiling, making the whole experience more enjoyable and less tiring.
Recently, I have proposed this project to my university and am currently assessing the level of interest before moving forward with building a prototype.
So I would really appreciate if you could take a few minutes to fill out this Google form. Your input could play an important role in helping me take this idea to the next stage! Thank you for your time, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Happy foiling,
Edo
Could you provide more context and information about your idea?
Maybe (re)-invented a foil-drive? Or something similar, to take the challenge outa the sport.
Anyhow, until he can produce a working prototype, he's just a dreamer!
Sounds different to the usual 'do my uni project for me' posts we see
Could Be value in it as if he gets the responses it might get funded and we might all love it
I checked the link against a couple of different cyber tools, no issues found. So go ahead if you want.
It takes you to a legit Google survey (he's just got a space in the url which breaks it - so copy paste & delete the space), but the questions are vague and I don't understand how it informs anything...
If people are curious about the questions but don't want to click on the link:
1. What type of sport do you practice?
2. At what level do you practice the sport?
3. How would you define the area that you practice the sport? (Wind speed descriptions)
4. What is the avg wind speed?
5. How often do you find yourself limited by not enough wind?
6. Min wind speed that allows you to foil?
7. What is the biggest issue you encounter when trying to foil in those conditions?
8. What do you think is causing the issue?
9. How do you currently solve the issue?
10. What is the biggest issue you encounter when trying to foil in heavy wind conditions?
11. What do you think is causing the issue?
12. How do you currently solve the issue?
13. Would you use a product that would allow you to foil in both light and heavy wind conditions without requiring any kind of pumping?
14. How much would you be willing to pay for such a product?
15. If the product reaches prototype stage, would you be interested in participating in testing or providing feedback?

you might have a problem straight away insofar as u ask about all disciplines. The issue with getting onto foil in winging will be very different to windfoil or tow in surf etc.
even within one discipline a race board and a normal board don't even look in any way related. The issues around range will have different causes.
if you truly have one thing u invented for a foil that will do all that then we need to know ballpark area what it is to get any interest
if it's a foil surface inspired by shark skin or whale flippers, winged keel style add on, or canards just give up now - the 80s made us old folks real sceptical
I'm gonna guess electronic or gyro controlled trim tabs. Been done before, didn't take off to my knowledge.
edit: I'm interested in how you eliminate pumping? If it's a foil drive, then I can't see how that would improve top speeds in strong winds as well as?
^^ Love it. Always do love more stuff for me to fix
Hahaha, fun! You're gonna need some serious fix-it skills for those complex machines with all the electronics and moving parts when they meet with salt water and the occasional solid object!
