Smallest volume is 78l. I think they're totally missing the mark on this one. The whole point of the mid length in my opinion is that you get an efficient board so you can get rid of volume. The largest armstrong mid is 85. I'm riding a 60l mid length myself in most conditions.

Depend on if you are wanting this as a single do it all board, or if you want a ML board to complement a smaller one? (and dont want a 7ft plus DW board)
I for example (86kg) use a 70 rocket S as my only board....so interested in the 105 (maybe 90) as a light wind complement to the 70 (and then could potentially swap 70 for even smaller...)

It's great, I've owned 54l rocket S before and Amos nitro 60l. I then got a 65l Amos sultan prone, which is awesome, and got the 90l f one midlength as a light wind board.
I'm finding though, I'm riding it most of the time as its just so easy, and only marginally less responsive than the Sultan.
I am tempted to sell both and just get the 78l midlength as a one board quiver.
Another good rider who rides a 48l rocket S, and same weight as me 80kg, rides his 105l midlength all the time now.

For me a mid-length is a board for mediocre conditions...low wind...or super gusty wind with lulls and you need to stand on the board and schlog. For the comparaison of army vs f-one...I think army decided to make a board for winging and surfing and the trade-off is you cannot really fulfill for what I'm looking for, unless you are 75kg and less. A mediocre conditions board that will bring you home when the wind shut down or practicing moves and don't be afraid to come out off foil because the lull are too long to get you up on foil when the wind sucks...and for my local inland spot...this is 90% of my conditions.It's a cross between a shortbard and a DW...where army is more a cross of a shortboard and a surfboard with less width. So if surfing is in your parameters, army might be better.I'm really happy with my short and compact board when wind is good...when wind is relatively constant, get on foil is not an issue.So to answer your question...what is a good volume. Depend what you are aiming for. Is you are jumping and throwing tricks, the smaller the better...if it's a board to wave rider, get up early...pass whitewater schloging...it needs to be at least your weight...to your weight + 10-15. I think swing weight and delay in response was more an issue with older boards with foil track really far back or foil brand who were mounting back in the track...with a lot of nose and foam in front of the track...now... 65L or 90L...not a super big difference on how fun is the board on foil.

Depends what you want to do with it. If SUP too more volume, light wind 105, all round 90/78 depending on your conditions.
They're good in light, gusty and strong winds especially 19/20 wide ones and I have just as much board in front of the mast on my 90l as I did with my 54l rocket S.
Other great benefit, as they foil up quick is you can ride a smaller foil and or wing. Like today, I was out on my 90l early 20' s knots, with lulls, I was on 3.6 flux and 850 sk8, on my rocket S I'd have been on 4.3 flux and 1050.

Apologies to bring this back to the top but there's no hands on info out there, just marketing fluff that contradicts itself.
Did anyone ever get a real world weight on the 2024 78L? Or any of them?
I'm assuming the "light bamboo construction" is the same on the '25s so they should be similar weights as the like volume. I like the shape of the '25 82L for parawing.
Suspicious the way their marketing photos show a custom like finish with "something black" showing through... There's not an ounce of carbon in the board according to the brochure. Then the AWSI video shows it with a standard solid orange finish.
My guess would be the 78L was about 6Kg, can anyone confirm?
Did find the weight of the 105 L in a Gleiten tv video at 6.2 kg, quite a bit lighter than I expected. That could mean that the 78 L was as light as 5.2 kg?
Interestingly I found this somewhere on the internet and looks like F-One are changing the design for 2025 and also introducing a crossover board
New ones out in April, narrower and longer plus the crossover boards, wider and shorter, they look good.

(I have a 70 rocketS and was thinking about getting a 120 mid length to pair with it for light winds and also potentially sup foil as well but now wondering if I can be bothered and just stick with one board eg a 83 crossover?)

Still would be interested to know the weight of the 2024 78L. I'm seriously considering another Aero (skywalker) custom. Same dimensions roughly and the 75L is 4.9Kg even with handle and inserts. I'd go without and it should come in around 4.5Kg. A little cheaper, it's got at least one complete carbon layer and the core is semi hollow XPS. It's not on their website yet, just the previous version.

The 5'10 I had on the scales matched the F-One specification on the website pretty closely. I would assume the same applies to the 5'8. The shape of the F-One Midlength 2024 is very easy to ride due to the boxy design, but gets going noticeably later than the KT Ginxu Super K or Armstrong Midlength.
Why do you think it's slower to get going than the KT and Army? What's the design considerations?

My friend has the KT SuperK 80L and the whole range of Fone foils. It works fine. Great board. He also has an Omen Flux 60L. I have the Omen 60 and 84. Great boards. Quick get up. The 84 is my all around board but at 95 kg, it's not a light wind slogger. I have to be patient and wait to get enough wind to stand but once I'm standing it shoots up quickly. If you weigh less than 84L, it would be a good light wind alternative. Same idea goes with the KT. If you live in a place where the wind is consistent, even if a little light, then a ML board about 10L below your weight is a one board quiver. I use my 84L 75% of the time while my 60 L needs high, consistent wind over 20 knots which is rare where I live. I did buy the Fone 105L ML for super light wind but it doesn't offer me any advantages over my 84L. It doesn't get up quicker and it's a pain to slog. ML boards 10L under your weight are good to go if you get a 11 knot gust if you know how to pump. Otherwise for super light wind, go for the Dragonfly.

Thanks! So 5.1Kg for the 78L. I'll expect no more than 5.3 for the 82L then. I'd be happy enough with this. The 2025 is significantly higher aspect than the '24 so should get up even quicker.
