Anyone wing surfing NYC? I've asked this question before more generally, but trying again. Anyone have any luck getting out past the shore break in big swell? We just had Ernesto go by and maybe 15 knt onshore. But the beach break was just pounding. Breezy Point is a hell of a walk from parking (and parking is not great) and getting around the point looks like a long slog upwind. East Rockaway inlet? I've never tried it, but it looks promising (aside again from parking...).

Any local advice welcome.

I know what you mean - when I lived in NYC, I struggled to find good ocean access !

I tried Fort Tilden beach once on a light day, but the expensive parking plus walk were not great.

Typically, I would wing-foil on Plumb beach b/c it provided good parking and a short walk to the beach. Understandably, it is NOT the same as the ocean, but there's plenty of wind, waves, and other sailors (kiters, windsurfers, wingfoilers).

Not sure if you necessarily look for waves. If not the LI sounds has plenty of nice beaches. crab meadows, Bayville to mention couple. Easy parking, close to the water particularly off season.
otherwise Oak Beach, east of Gilgo should be good
