I kind of think the Cybertruck channels the styling of the Ford XD Falcon.
How much does it cost to fill up the tank of a vehicle like a Ford F-150? I guess it would be more than $200 from empty. If the Tesla alternative can be recharged for around a tenth of this cost, it won't be long before Ford starts selling a battery powered F-150.
Ford Australia.. ahead of their time Although I think they pinched some of that styling from a Ford Granada or something.
I can see why you are thinking that, but I think the headlight area is similar to the XE falcon.
Although we don't really care what it looks like. Its a Tesla, and we can all feel confident in our status driving this, even if it looks like crap. I for one am going to take a leaf out of Macro's book and buy the most hoon mobile looking commodore and convert it to electric. I will even stick my own energy consumption stickers to it to really confuse people?
Self driving? Only when I am drunk.
obvious connection but how does one make a decision about any consumable product? Do we buy a car that Johno' next door would like?
what car would johnnos hot missus like
Now ya talking sense.
I like the fact there a few e4wd options out there now... this means i can consider buying a electric car, which is the enevitable future.
and they go faster, drive quieter, and no more fuel costs, so why not
just gotta wait for my rust bucket 1994 holden rodeo to die first, before i can justify it to myself :)
Heres another one rivian.com/?fbclid=IwAR0_U7FZe_i4zfK3H0DNLkOU6PUgKSkK2wCYh2GgfkccYdWlc_WlYioSwqM
the tesla truck might be a bit of a gimmick but there are some cool features, which comes when throwing away the design manual i guess. Like ssteel panels. and i like the roof angle - no more flat spots, water will drain easy, less rust. and as said, easy for solar panel install - actually i cant believe these dont come standard... its electric ffs! it could power itself, to a degree.
A solar panel might power the lights or the screen in the cab but would take a few months to charge the vehicles batteries right up.
Maybe for longer distances, considering the Cybertruck has a big payload, some owners will keep some petrol and a generator in the back as an emergency charger.
Yesterday afternoon we were out doing sone shopping and saw three different Teslas driving around. Two S models and one X model.
Tesla tesla tesla. Have you ever seen the range of electric vehicles that BYD manufacture.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BYD_Auto
Well the bad guys drive cars with 6 or 7 hubcaps. That's how you know who's who in the car chase.
it just wouldnt be the same with no engine noise :)
I have a reoccurring dream driving a car with a really long bonnet.
Do you ever have problems lifting the bonnet in that dream
The dream always ends crashing into the back of a pink Mini
Maybe you are driving a Yoghurt Truck with a short bonnet.... looks like a VW bonnet
My dream car right now is the Tesla Cybertruck. I'd like a farm ute. I'd like an electric car to get to and from the farm. I'd like the car to drive itself along a road that is safe to drive but is also boring to drive on.
The Cybertruck looks like it will fulfil all my wants and would be a handy vehicle on a farm. I'd go for the dual motor 4wd model.
Most probably we'd keep our little Japanese car as it's handy around town and the Cybertruck looks so huge.
Yep, same. But throwing the Cybertruck around the twisty roads might not be that much fun either at 3 tonne. The back would have to have a windsurf rack conversion
Wow, you guys aim too high!
I think it probably is, but surely there must be other factors.
In this article is suggests people that go for v8 powered RWD mustangs are young guys? Really? Everyone I have seen driving one is middle aged and I think you would need to be to afford it.

I will go back to my 1970 corolla and consider what it means for me.
It works with dogs re..morphing
Face it u bought a car u r not going to bag yourself for all the negatives.. U tend to love it more as u adapt to it.. No point in constantly thinking someone else's xyz is better.. Because it will be...In pure health outcomes thinking that way is a marketer's goal and ****ty for stress...
Most cars bought. new without a tax break involved are sub $30K.
You add perfume some dice and a window sticker.. Rad personality choices are mute..
Now for buying wheels to reflect you at a deep level..I reckon second hand using your own money and $30k spend.. Way more interesting..
Back to the pet analogy...
Gawd my dog's on chill pills, getting arthritis injections and still can't make his mind up about cocking a leg or squatting for a pee.. Aaaahhh
Cheers
AP..
Mehh.A/C works. Drives quite so i can enjoy infotainment.. Capacity for toy transport.. I quiet like cling-on cruise control.. Ability to shutdown excessive nanny state nappy alarms....miss electric seat adjust.. Modern car..
The one thing i would L o v e.. an engine which produced zero CO2.. so hydrogen or ammonia based.. Batteries are out till canbe recycled... Just look at Solar panel recycling.. In OZ.. Basically zero...
A red hyundai Getz.
You have me worried now. I have had people come up to me and tell me how ugly my dog is!
On the other hand, I have had people that know the breed come up to me and tell me how beautiful she is. I guess its one thing that you appreciate when you know what they are like, and sort of inline with your theory on cars. You justify these things and appreciate them, and forget about any negatives.
Here's the clue .. He owns the dog... (1 of 2) what vehicle goes with it??? Cheers AP

BUT....
Tesla use Lithium batteries which have a very finite life, with talk of replacing at 6-8 years.
And at a conservative estimate of $20-25,000
If that equates to say 12500 l of fuel, at 7l/100km you are around 180,000 km of travel (all rough figures).
It appears to be even cost - if you travel 30,000 km per year on fuel !!!
Waiting for better battery technology.
What kind of ute gets 7l/100km? Even diesel?
My Citroen Berlingo gets about 7.5l/100km on recommended 95 octane if I buy it at the local servo that gives me the biggest litres. I tried it on 98 and got 6.8 but it ran a bit hotter and didn't want to start. On E10, supposedly 94 octane it blew out to 8.4, negating any money savings from the cheaper fuel. In fact, the ~ 10% increase in consumption looks like the ethanol is just along for the ride, in which case I'd prefer it in an esky, not my petrol tank
I reckon :
FormulaNova would drive a Nissan Friend-me
eppo would drive a Gaylord Gladiator
theDoctor would drive a Mazda Bongo
Wineman would drive the Dodge Swinger
Mr Milk the Mitsubishi Mysterious Wizard
AquaPlow the Mazda Titan Dump
Ian K probably a Ford Probe
Spotty the Proton Putra
Beefarmer the Subaru Brat
Crusoe the Daihatsu Naked
Mobydisc the Mitsubishi Car-isma
Macroscienc the AMC Gremlin
Kamikuzi a Great Wall Wingle
PM33 a Vauxhall Adam
kato a big red Chevrolet Celebrity
Shifu an Austin Princess
Harrow a Tarpan Honker
and Laurie - got to be a Studebaker Dictator
am I right ?
(oh, and before anyone asks Carantoc is very happy with his Mitsubishi Minica Winky)

I love that you measured and worked that all out. I switched from 91 to E10 when I moved from Perth to Brisbane and I'm getting considerably less L/100km now, but I figured it was because the commute was more congested and slower.
Car, no. Bike, yes.
Same. Don't even have a car of my own anymore, we're now a one car family and I just use a motorbike to commute.

Agree about 95 gives best l/100km result, tested on older Outback, Civic and new Outback.
Country driving (115kph, windsurfer on top) get 6.8 from 2019 Outback. City 8.5 - 9.5.
Still shows that electric cars cost more and cost the same or more to run over time.
Maybe when we get the zinc bromide gel batteries commercially, electric cars will be a viable commercial option and not the current emotional/enviro option.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc%E2%80%93bromine_battery
"The zinc-bromine flow battery is a type of hybrid flow battery. A solution of zinc bromide is stored in two tanks. When the battery is charged or discharged the solutions (electrolytes) are pumped through a reactor stack and back into the tanks. One tank is used to store the electrolyte for the positive electrode reactions and the other for the negative. Zinc bromine batteries from different manufacturers have energy densities ranging from 34.4-54 W?h/kg."
The POXI communist government and cameras 33 year old speed KILLS at 110 kmph is a reflection as how Australians have had the freedoms taken and we been brain washed dumbed down to a point the community have imploded into community of car haters .....next time you get a ticket think about it really ....so I was 10 20 30 40 km over get fked in modern cars come on. Drive home you do gooders at the speeds above and tell me your speeding ,guess you can play on phone watch a move .....time for a (national number plate removal day) ..enough is enough is gorn to far Bring back the Aussie and drive no more phone's electronics time to Drive like there s no tomorrow and thumbs up to a worked V8
I was watching 'fast and loud' a week or so ago with the episodes where they remake a mustang so that they could refilm the scenes from the movie. In making it authentic, it looked a bit boring, and the other modern car (which I can't remember) in the chase scenes looked far more interesting to me.
Is it a thing where the original stirs your memory and there is something extra? I found the chase scenes a bit boring and pointless, although no doubt at the time they were exciting.
Some of the prices these cars go for in the USA are incredible and shows you just how many wealthy people there are that can compete for these things.
A short answer(see vid) to cars as a trait detector (particularly because they are for making money during/for work time AND are good for little else)...
Partly a reflection of personality, partly necessity (what and how much to carry) and partly financial constraints
