Yes but you can adapt to it. If I can gybe a 820mm wide wing on a 750mm long mast, then anyone can.

You have to pay attention a little more to what the water is doing and what it will be doing during the gybe so you don't poke a tip through a trough, but you can still load up and carve hard enough to make your knees collapse

IIRC my SS mast was stiff enough laterally but tended to twist more than was useful...
