Its starting to warm up!

Summer is approaching and we are already starting to get some winds here on the coast!

This Summer, what new moves or tricks are you focusing on nailing?

As a surf board rider I want to do more, and land aerials down the line, learn back rolls, and generally get better, bigger and more confidence boosting. That'll do me!!

Only started Kiting in Jan this year, and managed to hold ground, kite in the ocean comfortably, and nail more transitions than not.

This year is all about getting on the water as much as I can, building on last year and consolidating, and then learning to ride toe side and do my first jumps.

Upgraded the kites today so I now have more than just one.

Can't wait. Bring on Spring.

Such an inspirational post :-)

Going around whales~tigers~hopefully big hammerheads -the abrohlos again and maybe smuggled cocaine barrells that fell off a ship like happened in Cornwall once..

Hey Flyer, still residing on the Sunny Coast QLD. Live near Cotton Tree and work near Noosa.

Got a good set up at the moment, 4 working kites and two twinnies, nothing new but nothings broken. Add a few surfboards into the mix as well.

I still get out as much now, as I did in Perth, I wouldn't say windless here, however the 7m doesn't get used much.

Had to pick up a cheap 2nd hand 13m.

How are all the Pinnas crew?

Was actually just talking about this with a mate today.

This will be my 3rd summer of kiting, goals are:
- Become comfortable with kiteloops
- Transition to riding directional board comfortably
- Get comfortable in the waves, get a few more downwinders under my belt
- Learn a couple of basic tricks on TT (ie backroll & darkslide) - not particularly interested in bar-passes & technical wakestyle stuff, but now I can get airborne, would be nice to throw something in while I'm up there

I see the kite control and becoming comfortable with loops as being required for both wave stuff and TT tricks, so will be starting there - unless anyone can suggest otherwise.

My goal is simple; spend every day either on or in the water.

Working at sea helps, that takes care of a third of the year. The rest is taken up by surfing, kitesurfing, SUP, diving, spearing and fishing. Even when conditions are marginal I will still try to do something.

for me...

king of deadman without rotating and flying backwards through the air and crashing like a rag doll.

simple for some, but I'd like to land more of my tricks to the blind with more consistency then...

do the Dimitri thing where he does a Rotational transiton out of blind.

Also id love to be able to do that nose grab forward rotation transition Dimitri does...but he's down looping the kite (with the back hand) the opposite way to the forward rotational travel...that worries me and my knees a bit.

Overall, just ride with more flow and grace, stop fighting the kite And the conditions.

Strapless airs..sorry I've given up on them, too damn hard. cant be bothered with all the crashes.

Exmouth won't know what hit it in a few weeks..... I'm keen as to start nailing these dark slides. I would like to also progress further(begin) on my video editing career so I can compete against Jason's all killer no filler vid for around X mass.I will also be unhooking a lot more. Over the past while I have found the trictionary to be great for explaining my flaws. As of late I have gone out kiting with the words your only as good as your last session in the back of my mind!!! It's been an awesome winter of storm kiting. Here's to a summer of progression all around :-)

Lol pin puller. I see it now... Look out at graveyards to see 15 kites in the water, dudes swimming in, lost boards ... Just mayhem... Lol.

And one dude going up and back only smiling cause now he's got the whole place to himself.

I'm looking forward to a move up into the brisbane/sunny coast/gold coast area and with that all new spots to try. Was living in adelaide (love kitesurfing there). From what i can see going to be some pretty cool flat water spots (noosa looks incredible for that) and awesome waves spots too. Can't wait to get into it!

Also want to take up foil boarding this summer if I get the chance to buy a board and find the right spot around here to learn. Any suggestions?

Well lucky you should ask. There is not a formula you can apply for this.

A = P+(N+W+2)-F(D-1)
A= acceptance
P= Permission asked
N= number of toys
W= Something for wife
F= Forgiveness sort
D = Divorce.

So how does it work?
You can either ask permission or do it without permission and seek forgivness... So...Asking permission cancels out seeking forgiveness.
Getting something for wife cancels out divorce as long as something for wife is = in emotional value to N.Get it?
If you do not ask permission then W has to double to off set -F.........................

Confused? you should be

You can also apply these techniques as well.

1. *Confusion.
Add as many eronious details as possible until you see the capex approvers eyes glaze over.... Once glazing occurs your in.

2. Seek forgiveness.
Buy it and appoligize profusely.... better than asking permission and being denied,
3. Sow the seed.
A could of month out from purchase say a throw away comment. I'm thinking of buying a kite... Then slowly chip away like chinese water torture.
4. Make a deal with the devil.
If i buy a kite you can have ..........
5. Liquidation.
Fund the purchase with by selling unused sporting equipment.
6. Jedi mind trick.
"You will let me buy a kite"
7. Play on forgetfullness.
Oh yes you told me I could buy a new kite a couple of months back. Works real well with "sow the sead"
8. Sneaky bastard. Secretly buy it and don't say anything. . . . . . play a twisted game. How long before its discovered.
9. State it during and argument. Stuff it, if your going to act like that i'm buying a kite.... hehehhe. your already in the dog box. It can't get any worse..

Tried to do number 8 only to have the dealer send my wife a message to say my kite was waiting to be picked up. So it ended up a number 2

I want to learn how to limit myself to go kiting only when it is <15 knots and >25 knots. Therefore avoiding the crowd. It's great to share the stoke with a handful of people but everything above gets messy and makes it less enjoyable. Especially around here where most who come and kite at the pond are just on an ego trip. Extremely low and high winds are much more fun anyway
