I have 7m UX and 6m standard Reo - I don't think the 7m UX is better than the 6m. That said - I will always go for UX if all other details(except the price) are the same. But in small sizes I can easily go for standard construction if better availability or colour.
Forgot one question. If I would also go for a 8m Reo v7, would the standard version be good enough (since it is already quite light and you use it in more wind. And I also like the blue color)
So 10m v7 ultra-x with 8m v7 standard?
I went with 11m and 9m in Ultra X and 7m in standard because I would only use the 7m in 23/24knots and more and the weight difference would not be that noticeable.
Yesterday I had a blast session in 30-ish knots with the 6m standard Reo V7 and I didn't feel there will be benefit of having the U-X. I would say sizes up to 7-8m go with standard, 9m+ - go with U-X.
For me I have gone all UX models for there lightness due the conditions I kite in But this kite is just not all about the lightness it's the leading edge design which is stiffer etc
And additional cost is not as costly as other brands allula kite construction But which ever model you get they are such a great kite

Do you think the leading edge is stiffer? I think U-X Dacron is softer and more pliable than the standard one. I also do not think that LE diameter is different.

Yes I do but in saying that I am not flying the different models and you are
I did kite two models of OR roam Alulla's for two seasons before I came back too Reos UX and I feel the same in flying UX kites which I did with Roam which have stiffer and smaller leading edge ,lightness And before that I have used all Reos from V2too V5 Attached is Ozone specs which states stiffer frame and smaller leading edge ?? Love Love Reos Win Win for all of us
From my experience the UX Dacron is way softer and easier to fold. I fly UX and standard kites back to back all the time and I see how struts bend when I'm infating the kites and how much easier it is to fold the UX material.
I can not comment on the LE diameter as I don't have same model&size kites in the 2 different constructions, but my feeling is that UX does not have thinner LE for its size. I compare my 9m Enduro V4 to 9m Alpha UX and my 6&7m Reos.
But as you wrote - these are fantastic kites! If you love the Reo, try Alpha UX in the bigger sizes, I'm currently torn to say which is better for waves in underpowered conditions
Just for info:
On the Ozone-site they say of the dacron on the Ultra-x:
For the leading-edge text is the same for the standard V7 and the Ultra-x:
So I guess the LE is the same diameter on the standard and the Ultra-x

Yes the LE diameter is the same or very similar.
