I have to put a plug in for the Danes. the X-Yachts have to rank up there amongst the most sturdy and well built production yachts going around. I have to admit I am biased.
Danes? I suppose if you look at the Viking ships they were pretty sturdy. In all seriousness, Scandinavians can build very good ships too.

Good reason to be!
Andy, are you doing the Surf to City?
Hi Shaggy not doing the Surf to City as I draw 2.3m and I'm not keen doing the outside course. Are you doing it?

maybe you shouldn't because I do not think you have the strudiest boat or do you?

Hi Andy,
Yes, I've a reprobate ol mate that keeps harassing me to do the inside, he's got this mad idea of leaving the keel up and playing with the cats and trailer sailers. After tasting what it's like under full kite, I think he may need to lay off whatever he's taking.
I assume the outside doesn't appeal due to wind conditions? I think I've only finished one outside !

Have asked previously what are your qualifications for your responses
I am sure Selkie has also asked what type of boat you have.
Neither have been answered just more insulting remarks.
How dare you or anyone else bag someone's boat? That's someone's pride and joy of course they will take offense.

Probably not strudy enough to plot a tench from the goldy to Bris Seabreeze :-)
New marintimo 62 just arrived from qld to sa 30,000 litres of fuel burnt to get her here and now over 100 hrs of detailing and mechanical etc required. Aussie boats are fine if you have trillions of dollars and want to battle with the makers. I heard a new Riv 72 was returned from Sydney to Brisbane and give me my money back is in play! I'm not completly sure Aussie built boats are a good but unfortantly .

That's a bit of a generalisation. Both those Aussie boats sell more overseas than all the Aussie yacht boat builders put together.
Im not a lover of motor yachts as such but each to their own and boy they are pretty convenient to jump on and live away from home for a weekend ,week or Six with all the comforts or dash out to whale watch. Maint. cost of daughters Riv. app. Twenty grand pa . But if you can afford it.
Last year their longer trips were to Sydney , Mooloolaba 3 , Hervey Bay
My Sonata fits just nice.

That's a 44 or a 47 in front of yours. Most in my town go out in the morning and back before sundown. Some that do stay out flatten batterys. Run over reefs or loose there anchor and 90 meters of chain. If I had a water maker with my 1ton water tank I can be self sufficient for months and sleep tight at nights!

Ha ,I'm sure your right ,there are a lot that only do weekends and never leave the Broardwater /Moreton and the skipper knows to keep right and that's about it but when your dad /fil is a yachtie you look further afield. By the same token there are lots of sail boats that never venture outside the heads /Moreton. loa app.50 ( measured before I got Sonata )but I never asked model.
