Im not sure what I can say about sizes so wont say any specific numbers.
The wing I've been using dw for last couple of months is close to lift 120 sizing in sq cm. I've been using it from 12-28 knots comfortably. I've used a wide variety of different code tails and this front wing responds really well to different size tails. Ie the bigger tails add a good amount of low end and lift without being too draggy. Most of the time I'm usually riding it with the 150AR tail shimmed, particularly as it has been good winds lately. If it was really light (~12 knots) the 158AR (or bigger depending on skill level/fitness) would be nicer to use and not shimmed with this front wing.
I spent a fair bit of time on the lift 120 beforehand, as a comparison this code wing is easier to paddle up, has a better low end in crappy days then the 120 but matches speed with the lift 110 or faster? (have had a couple runs comparing lift 110 vs code). I guess it will ultimately depend on the conditions on the day for which wing is faster. But this code wing is quick, and reasonably user friendly for its size.
I think the bigger version is going to be a hit as well, could probably be the only dw wing you need in your quiver depending on your conditions/body weight/skill level.
I spoke to Benny Tardrew today the 770 R & 860 R will hit the stores next few days in Aus . SurfFX will have stock of limited numbers . The 770 R was what both Craig & Benny were riding on the Sups in the above video , I was on the 980 but I am getting a 770 for the ding & prone

Cheers mate. There must(?) be a little drag but in the conditions you would want a bigger tail you wouldn't notice it (I didn't), it just felt like having a slightly bigger or lifter front wing
I'm sure I've tried it before in other setups and not been as impressed but perhaps this is because the 770 R is a much higher aspect ratio than those setups. Anyway it's an option!

For dw turns as good as you need for a HA wing, and best of all if the tips come out you can still ride thru the turn. Quite often I've had the foil out of the water, getting a bit too high going straight and if you're gentle on it you will drop down and can continue riding. Very forgiving in breaches.

Thanks to the crew at Surffx (Great to deal with) I have 85 mast x 2, 980/850, med fuses and 2 tails 150/158. Tomorrow looks good for a ding. Stoked

They have been smart with the hole placement allowing a lot of movement it the box.

Yep, great foil. I (90kg) have the 980s and 850s for DW SUP in Perth. I have the 75 mast and 150 stab, I bought the large fuse too for DW. They both have great low end for their size. Turn really nicely and I love the glide, especially if you ride high on the mast. I haven't tried any R series yet as I didn't think they would be my flavour, but I'm sure I'll give them a crack soon. I have tried some other protos and have been impressed with the feel too.
Really happy with moving to Code. The S series has really ticked the glide/carve ratio for me. Good range and great handling too. Great work from the Code team.

Yep, my front screws come loose too, it would be good to have a torque setting from Code so we know how hard to tighten them. I've cranked mine really hard but no joy, might try plumbers tape. My sabfoil use to do the same.
I use my gofoil mallet on my 85cm mast, I don't have the same problem with my 75cm mast.

I haven't had any front screw issues. I found a bit of candle wax rubbed on the surfaces that come in contact of the mast and fuse made it feel much smoother to take off. Hope this helps.
The loose screw issue is not them coming loose but it's the fuse pushing onto the mast tighter during use . The design is a press fit . It used to happen on my 85 but not the 75 . Benny had a close look at mine and I simply wasn't nipping it up all the way . It was also super hard to get off but not so much now .

Right, come to think of it I don't have the problem with my 75cm mast, only 85. I actually assemble with mast off the board and put most of my weight on front wing to seat it down on the mast, so it can't go any further, but it obviously does under load during use, the question is now how to fix?

Most brands have the same issue (except lift and Go Foil), Axis was the worst offender from my experience. If the threaded mast insert is stainless or even brass you can use blue loktite though that doesn't work if you need to take it apart each session (really needs 24 hours to cure). Over time the carbon to carbon interface wears and it'll seat completely until it ultimately gets sloppy. Then paint a coat of epoxy on the mast foot and start over...
This stuff just shouldn't ever be taken apart. Use the TME method, epoxy it all together!

As I mentioned above , it's not your screws coming loose . It's the fuse pushing on tighter when you use it. Just keep nipping up each screw small turn at a time to bring it down dead tight .

I use a ratchet tool to do up mine as the tiny tool that comes with the gear is hopeless. But it's so tight when I do mine up now I don't want to tighten even further for fear of stripping the mast inserts and voiding my warranty.
Can Code give a torque setting to tighten too?

I did this on second use yesterday and it solved the issue. Screw was tight after 30km run and the fuse separated much easier.
I've spoken to James , Mark & Ben re this . Some of the 85 mast just have some extra clear coat on it making them tighter and it will wear off like mine and Hilly's has or just rub a little candle wax on it or give it a slight rub with wet n dry.

Windy session on the 850. In and out not dw. 158 tail was a bit slower but that was good in the beachie waves. Turned very nicely. Will try the 150 next time.
