The original post and I think a couple other's talked about more lift being created by changing the relationship of the mast to foil. If you don't account for the change by moving the baseplate on the board accordingly you've changed where the center of lift is but it hasn't created more lift.

Recommended movement back was 25mm. That means the foil is still 25mm further forward than the V1.5. I found the lift was more aggressive when dropping into bigger waves. If I moved the V2 mast back further it felt nose heavy in normal riding.

That doesn't create more lift. It changes where the center of lift is. If you can't account for that by moving the base plate back or forward OR moving the center of your weight then you might have problems riding it.

Yep I agree not more lift just a bit more aggressive on how it hits on a larger swell when paddling into a steeper section. I found the V1.5 easier to manage in that situation.

Today I rode (prone in 2ft) the V2 Gofoil Mast. I rode it with the PNL185 and then the NL190. I moved the mast back as recommended and it felt awesome. Pumped better and felt smoother and faster that my old mast.

If you can't afford both, a new wing and a new mast, get the new V2 mast, it will turbo charge your old wings.

Tried the V2 mast with my old NL160 that I retired because I liked the pump of the NL190 better.

The V2 mast has improved the pump and the glide of the NL160 out of site. Now I feel like I've got the pump and glide of the bigger NL190 but also the tighter turning ability of the smaller NL160.

The V2 mast definitely allows you to ride a smaller wing than you would normally ride.

I'm looking forward to trying the P 1300 with it. Should improve my pump when it's super tiny.
