With M2M, Hood River and M2O fast approaching it's pretty epic to see so many Aussies heading over for the events. Personally I'm doing it just to see if I can finish the thing and it's my first crossing ever. Super nervous but excited.
check out the start list:

I'm super excited to see this years DW events unfold. I will be at the gorge during that event and hope to see some of the DW gods perform.

I'll be at hood river too. Staying with Alex Aguera & Dave Kalama for the week. Super excited.
Definitely bucket list stuff , I'm on next year still got another couple of months with shoulder reco. What's the date on Hood river.
Also a bit more local, the Mini-G and GBROC DW races in Cairns also in DW month. We have a good crew hitting it up this year, last year was awesome on the Mini-G, and only James doing the GRBOC, but this year we have about 15+ doing Mini-G and at least 5 doing GBROC.
Such an awesome DW playground up there.

What's North QLD conditions like ? Imagine the trade winds would provide perfect groomed wind swells. I would want to avoid any croc country and box jellyfish though.

I was speaking to Kane from CC last week he said there's. Few races on up there. Epic becoming a calendar of events now

Hood foil race is Saturday 22nd July. Iv been there before and raced in 2018 but on SUP, incredible place. Can't wait. We'll make a bunch of clips and put through YouTube
Very keen to see who wins the Foiling Arms race of M2O.
The M2M looks a lot more fun and slightly easier logistics.
For anyone interested in visiting Perth in November there will be a load of fun downwind races.
Organised by the ski and canoe crew. Foilers can tag along and try to take out line honours!
16Nov - SSS1 - 12km - Port Beach to City Beach
18Nov - West Coast Downwinder - 24km - Port Beach to Sorrento
21Nov - SSS2 - 12km - Port Beach to City Beach
23Nov - SSS3 - 12km - Port Beach to City Beach
25Nov - The Doctor - 27km - Rottnest to Sorrento - Channel Crossing (ski or sup only)
30Nov - ICF Ocean Series - 16km - Port Beach to Scarborough.
Two weeks of action packed water sports event.
I'm putting together a website to find all this stuff as it is currently pretty hard to find

Seems to be unconfirmed that foil can enter, or is it unofficial? Guess they are aware regardless
Race results for Maui 2 Molokai.

Good on James Casey he beat Kai Lenny and not too far behind Kane:-)
James was behind Kai and going live during the race. It's hard to tell how much of these races are mind games between the top guys. :) Kane on his own self designed foil and KT board.
Andrew Gibbons on a lift 110x.
Edo on AXIS. (I assume an unreleased ART Pro but I don't know)
James on Code.
Kai on Phantom foils was the plan. Not sure if that's what he used or not.

Yeah interesting to see the race or parts of it, and also interesting to know what everyone was on / riding & the conditions etc:-)
James was actually second but the last Km or so was flat water and it turned into a flat water race , he got passed there by 2 guys on longer boards . What a cruel way to get kicked off the podium . The start sounded hard as well Marcus Tardrew got 13 Benny his brother came in 10th Oskar came in 7th . So good run by the Aussies .Just got a message from Ben Tardrew the results are far from accurate he came in ahead of Dave Kalama .

It is good to see that sup foil dw is finally becoming a thing !!
Why would a longer board be better in the flat Piros?
Guessing means they were not on foil
James new reel explains a bit more. Andrew gibbons. Kane and whoedo went on an outside line. So while James and Kai were in front they weren't in the big bumps.
as I understand it. Andrew was in the lead til the end and came off foil which let Kane pass him.
then kai and james. Kai was ahead of James and was overtaking edo but kai came off foil which let James pass him. Its really to bad there's not better coverage of these races and we have to piece it all together. Sounds like a great finish.
edit: oh and the start. People were leisurely paddling out to the start line. Not everyone was lined up or even close. Horn blew at the start time no matter what. So some people had to go further.EDIT2: The above might be all wrong. I didn't realize it was a 5 minute youtube too. Watch this and don't listen to me. I haven't seen it yet. .

Too bad for the lack of coverage...
Looks like an epic race with some drama ! No room for mistakes !
I'm impressed on how they can keep flying with such smaller HA foil in weak section.
And what about Dave Kalama, 58 years old and into the top 10 !! I wonder what he was riding, actually I wonder what everybody were riding (board and foil).
As for Kai, I guess that now being a dad (especially with twins) makes a huge difference, even if he is a Pro athlete, having kids is someting you have to deal with (usually less sleeping, haha). But we all know the guy, he is gonna be fired up for M2O for sure !!
Youtube is onto me. Showed me this video. Good view of the conditions. James Casey and Josh Ku cameo's at the end.

Very impressive Dave! Big shout out to local Gorge guys Cody Cornett and Tre Hendricks as well. We have nowhere to train for something this long and it's totally different type of wave.
Dave was on his new proto and a 70cm v2 Gofoil mast, RS1075 -X front wing
johnny hagan on RS850-HA finished at 1hr 52 but they stuffed the results.
I finished at 2 hr 17. And there were guys still not even half way yet at 4 hours 20!
Good effort to finish Dylan , it was a tough race. KD Maui was on a 8-0 x 18.5 x 105 KT and on a 800 wing , the Code boys Jimmy , Benny & Marcus were all on a 770cm2.
Epic coverage of the race here , it's wide screen so download INSTA to your computer , great viewing and Dylan has a nice Cameo.

Happened to line up with M2M, so signed up last minute - finished above average in the wings! Such an amazing time to be there among the legends and rising stars. Wind was a bit light to start and glassed out to finish. My first open-water race and felt pretty alone for much of it - can't wait to be out there again!!!!
