James shouldn't be out there efoiling around when surfers are out at the same break and in fact breaking the law. Bad form and I am sure you all could name a few influential fd riders doing the same thing with even some videos posted on here.
Well enough away is not on the same break as surfer even if you are out the back or wide.
Wing foiling in the lineup also has to be included in this discussion. Kites and windsurfers don't have the problem to the same degree because they need 20knots and by that time surfers should be out of the water.
Re powered craft: I am personally a traditionalist and not an advocate for any type of powdered craft. You are only cheating yourselves :) Bit like having sails up and running the motor on a yacht. However this is not really relevant. Everyone just needs to know the pecking order and etiqutte and we should be able to share the stoke together.
Well done Mark for inventing a commercial tow boogie. I think you have nailed the product design and made a relatively safe and user friendly self towing device. I would like to see people look at the positives of such devices. I'm sure we will see Electric rescue sleds or towdrones will be at our busy beaches in the future. TowBoogies are going to be much quicker to deploy than any heavy Jetski or RIBs for surf patrols, particularly at inaccessible beaches. As for the current use case for foilers, 200metre a minimum clearance to any other water user and go find your own break and have the time of your life! Just don't forget to have your mate film it and post it on Insta.
