RED HOT!
It was quite amazing.
While they were painting the board I got to confirm colours were what I wanted, adjust the fade, change the spec. on how the rails were going to be treated, comment on the paintwork at the join, see what was happening like I was there.
All thanks to Dylan and his crew.
That is what left such an impression on me after my stay at the Sunova factory (literally lived IN the factory for a month)
The dedication to quality by entire the crew.... from office to production line!
Many of the workers surf, skate and live the surfing life....
Sunova's are truly "Built in Paradise" by folks who love what they do and where they live.
Blimey, that looks bright.
Will you wax it or Pad it?
Still weighing up the options.
1. Wax. Pretty much ruled this out.
2. Full pad - 3 colours, orange on the orange, yellow on the yellow, white on the white and ignore the fade.
3. Pad like early PSH boards had - cut up bits of pad about an inch square with gaps between - same colours but could mix at the fade transitions and let the fade show through. This strikes me as a lot of work.
4. Hexatraction - I have bought enough to do the board, but worried it will get uncomfortable standing very quickly.
5. Small pad and hexatraction - orange pad in paddle standing area, hexatraction front and back of it. This one is probably winning at the moment.

Or just hang it on the wall and admire it over a nice glass of cold soda water...

At the rate I'm damaging things at the moment it won't be a wall hanger for long.

Or the rate that friends damage your new boards
OK, I'll admit I was getting a bit worried I hadn't heard anything about the finished board.
Had a message almost a month ago that it had been pushed aside for boards for a container, then a Japan trade show.
Then nothing......
A couple of emails to Dylan, then a reply.
The delay had been while he fought off a little bout of Coronavirus.
No, I'm not kidding.
He was back at the factory today.......
As always, thanks Dylan.
Got those surf lessons sorted yet?
Alternatively, maybe you need to employ a "Strategic Technical Consultant" (that's STC for short) on a 457 visa arrangement!
Nice Nozza
Shame I am heading to Vic Today or I could have brought it down for you.
Maybe we should do a meet up in Merimbula in a month when it is landed

The Express Screamer!
Don't know if this has already been asked and answered but why did you stick with balsa rather than paulownia?
I see it has a small windsurf for a uni attachment on the deck, is the other US box on the bottom for a fin for float and ride sailing ? I'd be interested in your back once you have a chance to wave sail your sup ?

I rather the look of the balsa, and the GenRation boards only come in balsa / XXX Tec

Yep, other US box is for a forward fin to be a "centreboard" when windsurfing.
Like this....
Makes a huge difference to windSUP.
My windsurfing skills are more gentle flat water rather than wave sailing though.

I am keen to hear how you like your new toy!
Looks great in the reverse original "Creek" colors
Rode my Kanga two days ago... such an awesome board!!!
EZ pezey in full 5 mm winter gear.....thick ice on windshield when I left home for dawn patrol. April, knock it off! ??

Yep, that's the little beach just up from Mitchies Jetty.
Favourite spot of mine - place must be a ghosttown now.

Won't be riding it for a while - going to wait until things get back to some sort of normal.
Do you have some suggestions on what fin / fins for the first tryouts?
