Hey Chickadee,

The rails on the Rev are super thin and there is lots of rocker especially thru the nose. The rails are pretty similar to the Style in thickness. But the tail is a much flatter rocker. So it squirts more off the tail and doesn't stall as much - more like a shortboard.

I'd also have a look at the Sunova Surf... but i guess it depends on your surf style more than anything...

If you want to surf off the tail - the Rev (and my custom Surf) is where it's at. If you want to walk, noseride etc then the style is the best pick.

A shorter version of the Point Break could do the job too. I have an 11' PB...

I have a custom 10'4" x 28.5 Surf and the 11'0 Point Break. You are welcome to try them out if you like...

I live in Torquay...

Thanks Hoppo, I only surf from the back, or back from the back to be exact!
Thanks for the generous offer to try the sups, might take you up on that one day when we're over on the west coast. Like wise if you're over at the Mornington Peninsula give us a hoy and we can take you out to some nice breaks, Vic weather pending!
Happy supping

Chickadee ,I have had the 10x29 style ,and the 10x28 Rev both were quite un stable in the bumpy ,rough water IMO it's the very wide nose and parrelell outline ,and only 28 wide. They were both doable in ideal conditions, but that's not often, where I think you are planning to surf,.treat yourself and go wider, with a more pulled in nose ..just saying

Thanks JustAddWater for the feedback on your experience with those sups, its a good reminder. The same as when we go to shorter and shorter sups, you get to a point where the fun factor isn't there, same with stability.

Chickadee, treat yourself to a ferry trip and take up Hoppo's generous offer to try the mini point break, could be very interesting,I know I would if I was closer, and yes I agree with you on the quest to go shorter...and fun factor..having said that let's ask Hoppo for a update!

Hi Supchikadee,
If you want the longboard style without the bulk I would recommend if you can get your hands on the 9' version to try I would, it may be perfect for you.

I had the 9'x30 revo it is an awesome board in every way. The only thing I found is that at my weight it didnt like me right on the nose ( too fatnheavy) But it certainly ripped and was a fast board. I put Quobba fins on it that made it very loose. The only reason I sold it is that I have a flow v2 that performed better and I was a bit big to nose ride it.

I now have the 10'x30 revo as I felt the 28' may be a little too much work for me. I wish I could have afforded a custom version at 9'6x29 I think this would be the board in the revo range.

PS. I surf not far from you. If ever over Invy way I have an 8'8 flow, 8'8 SPX and revo. You are welcome to try them all anytime.
