Noosa has had good waves for the Longboard comp....oops I'm in the wrong room talking bout longboards
Watched a edit version of the final. Awesome backhand skills by"ace" and that backdoor into that gnarly cavern of JW 's was well worth the mobile data.
And what about parkos free surfing monster snapper barrel doing the social media rounds massive!!!!
A exciting day of pro surfing even for jaded miserable bastard like me
Gents for those who may be interested Indian Ocean long boarding club ( yallingup) held the club comp on Saturday, there are a heap of pics up on their Facebook, good little view of what goes on on the west coast if you want to have a look. I don't know how to do links etc etc
I watched both finals go down and for the life of me couldn't see why Steph & Mick let good waves go, when they had priority, in the dying minutes giving their opposing surfer the waves and a chance of beating them All they need to do imo, was to paddle for the wave and with priority take it or leave it..and in doing so deny the opposing surfer a chance at Glory
Steph survived to ring the Bell..but Mick lost out to a Brazilian..WTF
Do you think Bede,Joel and Mick could ever be seen drinking beer that dose not have the Balter logo?
Reason Mick and crew would be well into celebrating his retirement from pro surfing, not all pubs stock
the brew so it would have needed to be planned.
Just a thought but why the hell do we need to see the priority system in man on man,I can understand it for 4 man heats but when its just two surfers in the water lets make it more interesting for the punters and have no priority system, lets see em snake, rattle the others cage etc,its got too gentrified and predictable, imagine seeing two surfers hassling for the inside at chopes, the box, pipe etc now that would be worth watching waddyareckon ?
Medina said he won't be heading back to WA, I think they made the right call, imagine the fallout if a comp person got attacked after the resent events. One thing it's got the shortboard room fired up.
