I watched both finals go down and for the life of me couldn't see why Steph & Mick let good waves go, when they had priority, in the dying minutes giving their opposing surfer the waves and a chance of beating them All they need to do imo, was to paddle for the wave and with priority take it or leave it..and in doing so deny the opposing surfer a chance at Glory

Steph survived to ring the Bell..but Mick lost out to a Brazilian..WTF

Both call snapper rocks home and are spoilt for good waves
I'm stoked for Steph by thought she got slightly over scored on her last wave but I'm no expert.
Today was goofy day they could go more vert than the natural footers.

Do you think Bede,Joel and Mick could ever be seen drinking beer that dose not have the Balter logo?
Reason Mick and crew would be well into celebrating his retirement from pro surfing, not all pubs stock
the brew so it would have needed to be planned.

They could and would drink what they likedId say they arnt sponsored by Balter are they, its just their business although Id imagine they'd have a pretty good supply of it wherever they travel in Oz.Havnt seen the replay of the final yet,was it close, obviously Italio doesn't understand English too well or he would have known Mick was meant to win.

Just a thought but why the hell do we need to see the priority system in man on man,I can understand it for 4 man heats but when its just two surfers in the water lets make it more interesting for the punters and have no priority system, lets see em snake, rattle the others cage etc,its got too gentrified and predictable, imagine seeing two surfers hassling for the inside at chopes, the box, pipe etc now that would be worth watching waddyareckon ?

I wonder if the forecast had anything to do with the cancellation..

Medina said he won't be heading back to WA, I think they made the right call, imagine the fallout if a comp person got attacked after the resent events. One thing it's got the shortboard room fired up.

What like J Bay?

What about the shootings in Brazil?

They took the easy way out of bad weather..

Maybe so I don't know the area but what I read was two attacks, dead whale or whales washed up doesn't sound too inviting for a surf, well not for me anyway. They called J Bay off as well did they not? Brazil yep crazy place for sure.

I'I say their insurance had a bit to do to with it. They're in a hard spot if nothing happens well that's great but imagine what would happen if something did.

Personally I probably wouldn't surf for a few days either if there was an attack close to my local so can kinda understand where they are coming from. But be interested to see what happens if there Is another shark swims through the lineup at Jbay like the previous few years.
