Dave brash was shaping for jc in 94 or 96 somewhere sometime down south. Got a custom 6"5 mafe and it had really really boxy rails through the tail. He called it the rocket gem tail.
It was unbelievable and by far the best board i ever owned, was working in cervantes crayfishing back than 19 20 years old driving a boat, got to surf every mysto reef around there to abrolhos on it.
So many barrels took it to indo, g land and than over east to the points...
Would buy new boards and still ride old jc.
Never ever had another like it. Dont know whete dave brash ended up but wish i did.........

No. I have no idea if he is still shaping. Mine is still in really good nick and occassionally gets a run, although only in small waves as the lack of volume is ridiculous.
Cray boats? Well la di la...you were the royalty. I was the pleb in the cray factory processing them with mates showing me photos of all the waves.
I just resurrected the single mids and anything else post with that clip...
oops... Should have looked here first..
Good clip anyway...
You found the better home for it - nice collection - good to see he has kept some of his old boards from so long ago. Wish they still tied people up with leg-ropes these days
We all don't have a house as big as yours
How's the place going? Have you done any more renos? We drove past here last weekend and thought of you . We are planning a weekend there very soon. Looks unreal. Thanks for the heads up

Hey cmon. I have a nice house but live very broke because of it.
Havent done many renos as the lil one is still very full on. Will be doing internal linings in the shed next. Will just line it in plywood and do plasterboard rake ceilings.
Have had a few friends from SA go over to Derby to mtn bike. They all lost their s**t and said it was epic. Enjoy the ride. Would love to live in Tassie.
Moral of the story. Keep all your boards.
I pretty much have. I've only sold two surfboards since I took up surfing. Hence the 30 plus boards in the shed. I wish I'd kept the Cordingley single fin which was my first fibreglass surfboard though.

I don't know I've started collecting instead of trading,I've got 6 now but would only use 3 so to me they look unreal but I can't help thinking they are waisted.

I was going to.cull about 6 boards as they were not getting used.....so glad I have not. They look great, have good memories and it has been really fun hopping onto.differnt style of boards again.
Personally mac you should stick to what you're good at.....buy and sell.
You are the main problem this room is quiet....no board porn. You know what you have to do prez
Its alive...here's the Gravelle from the previous post home safe and sound...the old girl looks a bit worse for wear but hopefully its salvageable
If I could have just one board from my past it would be my Dino Miranda 9.4
the board i missed was Billboard

I like the full grip deck.
It looks like it went well. I surfed some similar shapes by Murray Bourton I think (he was Pipedreams?). Those rounded, soft rails and skinny noses went really well in sucky waves I reckon.
