mate if storm has
cam smith on 1.5
Slater on 1.0
and crank on 950

whats the big deal about sam. IMO i think walker had a bad season + the after season drama made it easy for bunnys.
watching walker last year,,he just wouldn't pass that funkn ball to jonno.

Not wrong.
You wonder how these people make the decisions they do. Removing common sense seems to be the general theme. The way the club has handled Farah is an absolute disgrace. I'm emphasise the word disgrace here.

Come on Cobretti you've followed the game long enough to realise the 'big three' are in the key positions of 1,7 & 9. Compared to a number 8 or 13 in Sam.
We have offloaded a lot of players to fit Sam in the cap.
If he does an ACL round 1 the we are farked

spot on Pup,Sam is a leader and good forward.he was missed last year.

hey the gamble mightn't work, so what.

Scotty ,if DCE did an ACL rd 1 manly would be farked too, I've never seen a club set a team up for what will go wrong.

Cobra for someone with a smart football mind,I'm a bit shocked you think a front rower is worth that much,no matter how good he is.

Could you share your thoughts on why you think he is worth more than a Thurston.

South's did pick up a handy young centre from the storm though. Forget his first name, last name is hunt.

chrispy i think good forwards are a rarity, a year after year forward even more so.

sam is a leader hard working and a team lifting player "especially lifting the forward pack" he had that pack on a string in 2014 imo best forward pack id seen in years, they ****n dominated.
he has proven he can lift a team. yes i know forwards sit on the bench unlike thurston's DCE ect ect.
im not saying sam B is the be all to end all or SB the greatest forward.
btw Gallon is payed 1m and what has he done for the sharks.at least sam has a clive churchill and pemship.

on thurston
i think thurston is not only a good player he also lifts his team.when JT is off the paddock his team really struggle and its not because they have no game plays.
BTW JT is on 1.4

chrispy as you know W bennett takes the same players from team to team.
they fit in with his game plan,,,sam fits souths ,,,end of story, its that easy.
and yes chrispy thats right, about souths back line i think Maguire sounds like he has it sorted.

as for walker i don't know anything about souths reasons why he is going, is it$$$$, is he a team player, is he a bad boy,is it he don't fit in the coaches line up.
i don't ****'n know, the press don't ****'n know, unless some big big knobs in that club tells you, its all piss and wind IMO.

BTW i know for a fact player managers leak a large% of "rumours" in NRL to the press either to piss one off or build a payers purse.

next thing i know someone is trouting down the pub and pointing at the paper ,then they wonder why i laugh.

hey its just my thoughts thats all,,,, i was asked,,,

Sadly I have to agree with the snake man that SB is a great player - much better than Gallen and still young - recall he failed in union early on so still has lots of years in the tank. He will get better n better.

Is he worth 1.5? I would rather have a JT than him at that price. But with the salary cap increasing over the next few years he is good value. Not outstanding but good. Gallen was paid overs as he was needed to stay at the Sharks to prevent further leakage.

Put it in perspective - if Robbie Farah can command 1mil then Sam is cheap !!! But you would want to be getting 70 mins a week out of him. Not two lots of 20 mins.

sadly i also have to agree with ted

but to add to what ted said. yes JT would be a better buy,,,BUT JT was singed for a 5 year deal to finish his days at the cowboys, the salary cap has lifted since those days and will lift again.

JT the #1 player in the game for 1.4 in this day is good coin BUT JT's days are numbered.

as for robbie,, he is a team lifter and he also has proven it , but at what cost .
its like what i said in my last post, who knows the real truth at whats going on in NRL clubs.

NO club in NRL wants to crush a player.

some have to realise with the salary cap different conditions apply. sponsorship from companies with no profiting from the club or the NRL
like this years Cowbee's land sales coming under question . .

in that contracted moneys can be bigger media commitments for that player for their club.

more work load, but thats only if you have the right bloke....cars are capped at 100k and so on so on.

And let's not forget the 3rd party benefits if you are a one town team against a team in Sydney for example. Or if you Brisbane then a one town City which makes the salary cap a little less of a problem. But let's not forget there are lots of examples of third party payments not being made as well
