Have been on his site a fair bit watching his vids about his boards and he certainly seems to get it. Has great explanations for all his boards and they all seem to be reasonably priced.
Anyone own one??
I would really like to get a pig off of him.
Mike Black (surf a pig blog) seems to be stoked on his.

Do it...
Wil get you frothing harder then JB and a shark thread..
Great boards, very well made and a nice bloke.
Easyrider or The Mal are nice lookers..
What model are you looking at?
I have a "The Mal" model Pieter board 9.1' x 22" x 2 3/4". They are a very forgiving board that can be ridden in a HP mode ie: like a shortboard and I have it set up with 6.5" thruster set up and it'll handle anything. On the other hand it has a quite flat nose rocker I'm 95kg and can hang 5 on it (briefly), like any HP mal it will outrun the pocket hence I spend most of my time these days on my 10' noserider unless it gets big.
Board quality is very good and as you'll have seen from Pie Eaters videos he makes the boards by hand all by himself, something I like in my boards. My other mals are from Sam Egan and Mathew Keane who all have the same ethos. You wouldnt go wrong with a Pieter in my humble semi informed opinion.
Hi McHenry
A couple of local lads love them and they are both solid surfers.
They both have his modern style of mal and one of the boys rides his log style board as well.
I just find the amount of concave a bit unusual, not sure! But that's just me.
Last weekend.

10 foot 50's pig on eBay. Pretty pricey considering it's around 1500 new give or take a few options.
Pieter is at Mayfield West in Newcastle. He sounds like he knows what hes talking about. He said to me his team riders have helped him perfect the Easyrider and from the videos i have seen they ride nice.
I love my Sheely HP that i recently picked up but always wanted a big flat noserider. Looking forward to riding a square tail board too. Im not changing anything either, i will juts get the stock job. 9'6" x 24" not sure of thickness. Only change is i want Volan, grey on white.
he also live streams the board build. Does 1 board per week. Starts Monday and pick up Friday
There's a guy down here that rides one. Heavy looking log style single fin. Looks really good and well made.
Just placed the order today and there will be photos. I took Pieters advice (for a change) and he came up with a std 9'6" x 24" x 3", with square tail and a huge concave in the nose. 60/40 rails and rounded at the rear (log style). 11.25" Shapers Vault fin. My imput was I wanted Volan treated Glass with 1/2, or a slight, grey tint, to show off the laps. 2 x 6oz and a purdy diamond deck patch and 1 x 6oz with a diamond fin patch on bottom.
The shaping will be streamed live on his web site Easter Monday and will be ready to pick up the same Friday.
What a top bloke and gentleman, I could not shut him up. Its the little things that matter to a customer or even a tire kicker. Like I spoke to him for 5 minutes yesterday and said I will think about it. When I rang back today he answered with "Hello Stephen". Such a small thing, to remember my name, but it shows he is a class act. Also he would not take a dollar more than his advertised price for an Easyrider, even with the Volan and tint, he even let me choose my fin.
Cant wait to pick it up.
So excited for you and this board. Watched him shape a 9' fish live. Was awesome! Love his videos. He is doing an awesome easyrider at the moment and just did an insane 50s pig.
Really looking forward to the finished result!
Great result already, when you get looked after like that. I'm sure will be a cracker!
The Easy Rider
He makes a good board! He worked with John Walsh from Natural Hi back in the day and been building boards for a long time. know a few who have his boards and they are pretty happy!
