Cool pics JB, looks like you had great conditions....thing I really like about the shinkansens is you can have a few beers on them while watching the world fly by
Just to let you guys know a bloke got a small chunk of his foot bitten at south point yesterday arvo, a mate drove him to margs to get sorted out, not on the news or anywhere yet and the bay was packed again this morning but I'm done surfing there after seeing that
It's strange how this hasn't been reported on any news sites. Hope the guy's ok.. Time for some culling, i reckon.

those wobbegongs are a menace!! cull cull cull
Definitely wasn't a wobbegong but wasn't a white either, probably a bronzy
like I said the bay was packed out the next morning, just letting you guys know so you can make your own decisions
No culling called for (yet)
Were you in the water / nearby Jimmy?
I went down to South Point for a quick one the following day about 3pm and it had only just been reported on Dorsal and Sharksmart - although there was a small sign in the car park.
Was probs the pick of the waves but decided against paddling out. Only a handful were out by then.
Plenty of waves to be had in those few days though down south. Crowds noticeably smaller than years prior for this time of year. I'm guessing because it Seems a shark pops up or is just made more public every few hours down there currently.
surely the surfing community has a few more ideas to ease the mind. Even if just more information, devices or less harmful/ sensible netting alternatives.
Bleedin' Nora! After seeing images of a dude ice skating on a beack in Maine, I'll stop bitching about how cold my surfs have been of late.
Last night Two and half hours of what can be best explained as a Social float with about 35 mates, the occasional party wave and lots of burning, but loved every second of it..A few really good runners, but it resembled a lot of bumper boating more than surfing..

At least you didn't injure yourself in Japan
I've just got back from The Gold Coast- pumping last 2 days crap the rest.
got some belters at Kirra but had to work hard-paddle out at Coolangatta, drift in the sweep catching waves on the way, drift through Kirra hope to catch one that doesn't close out or have to share with wave starved frothing locals or any Brazzos not in bali, drift past the groyne to in front of Pizza Hut catch one in walk back up to Coolie and do it all again.....each surf 3hours of paddling catching about 5 waves getting 2 good ones to my self...HARD FKARKN WORK
saw some absolute screamers go through unriddensaw some screamers absolutely destroyed saw lots of drop ins upon drop ins....some very good surfers without stickers and Mick F and Parko up close ripppppping.
no rules out there and Snapper was worse!!!!
got a couple at Dbah but when no where else was good all frothing locals and brazzos and learners and dogs, cats etc all out there
I'm glad that almost everyone is taking these *marginal* conditions for granted.
More joy for the true afcionados to enjoy.
Had the displeasure of sharing a crowded line up with a foil this morning.
His first wave, face plant
2nd wave, belly flop on the rails
3rd wave, scare the hell out of the grommets with another stack and big blade heading skyward
As I mentioned before. They will tell you "I can now Surf those out of the way places where nobody is out" blah blah blah
And in reality they end up out with everyone else
A disaster waiting to happen

NO... Tell me this isn't the much hyped wave in Joondalup... Please.
Sadly for the time being yes.. They have different moulds they insert and the mould for the larger wave was not up to scratch so is being re made and to be delivered still..

is that why the kid in the red hat is hanging his head in frustration?
snuck out for a lunchtime surf.. No wind, small waves, a bit of a wall, a seal tossing a fish around and a sting ray swimming underneath my board. I might have even caught a wave..
Just met my first foil in the flesh at Perth's most secret southern beach break (home). Was pushing the kids into a couple when a #@$#head pumps his foil through the flats a foot from my 7 & 9 year old, struggling to be in control. 'What's that Dad', 'Stay away and duck deep!!!'. Need to cull these quickly, before they breed!!!!
