I didn't go and have a look today. Apparently I can surf as of this weekend (with copious waterproofing), but I'm still oozing blood out of my wound intermittently so I thought I'd wait a bit. There might've been a wave around in sheltered (from the wind) pockets though. I saw the beach offshore from a distance a few times and there was swell marching through.
Anyway, yesterday I went for a drive up to Hillarys and suprisingly there was a fun looking mini-wave at Trigg. And almost no-one out, the carparks were empty. Very, very quiet. Glassy conditions. I would've been all over it if fit.
Even if I'm able to surf I won't be out much in the next few weeks. Upcoming north trip that I have a ****eload of work to prepare for. I'm setting up a camper trailer and motorbike and a few other things and it's eating up all my time.
Full-blown summer conditions today. I went for a drive along the beach at one stage and there's more sand than in midsummer. No banks. No swell. People swimming. Tourons everywhere. A single SUP in ankle-high waves. Wow. I really will only surf my local break twice this year. I can't see any more storms big enough to rip up the sand and create any decent banks. What a dismal year.

<groan> - sadly, I tend to agree with your long range forecast - a very ordinary Spring season... Looks like I'm due for ankle surgery... may as well get on and get it over with (was going to leave it for Summer so I could surf the Spring season).
No water time at all since early August. Could be back now, but I'm flat out welding, wiring, planning, etc. Building a camping trailer for upcoming trip (I'll wave on my way past). Not much point going on a surfing trip when I'll be so rusty but it has to be done. I've got 4 weeks.
One day I will. I drove through last Easter (or maybe the one before). Just did the tourist thing though, view all the sights, lunch in town then inland for more tourist sights, with the family. We were staying two towns south along the beach. I got a few days in at B___ river mouth, which I quite enjoy. I've had a few sessions out there, it's a very high performance wave on a good day. Doesn't handle much over 3-4' but fast long lefts and a few rights.

Anyone surf Perth metro today...? (Mon 13th Sept) Specifically, around the Trigg stretch. Typical weekend cr@p, and come Monday - looks OK.
I haven't been out for a month and was wondering about the banks.
