I heard later from Bernie Baker, while I was at the Point. Kelly Slater was ripping up the beachie. I popped in there the next day, but the swell had dropped a lot, looked fun but we'd passed better looking waves. Swell did that over the 5 days I was there, reduced by about 25% each day...but anyway, was cool to see the video in my recommend vids the next day 
Mason Ho is one of my favourite surfers to watch. I was stoked to find the "Ho & Pringle Productions" channel about a month ago, heaps of great vids on there

Hearing about Sonny Garcia was a shock and brought back memories of the green iguana. Gem of a movie with great surfers at great locations with a wicked soundtrack.
