Could one of you tech savvy windsurfers please tell me what is going on? I log into KA72, upload my stuff then click "Post to GPSTC" then login to GPSTC as asked then when GPSTC opens up it opens up to the page with the list of all the teams. It is about 6 months since I was successful in getting it to work so it is hard to remember what it used to do. From memory it would open up with the completed table of 2 sec, 10sec, NM, Alpha, Hr, etc . The only way that I have been able to put my stats onto the GPSTC for the past 6 months is to hope that someone else in the Lake Macquarie team has sailed on the day and if I go to the bottom of their entries I can click on "edit this session". Then it brings up a the table for 2 sec, 10 sec, Alpha etc but it is empty. I can manually put my results from KA72 into that table after transferring them from a piece of paper where I wrote them from KA72 site. It is a pain in the rear end but at least it works. Today no-one else in the team was silly enough to go out so it is then impossible to put anything onto GPSTC. Lucky I didn't set a new world record or some PB's. I am using a LOCOSYS GW60 watch.

I think I click on the post to GPSTC button and when it opens I log out then log back in. I then go back to KA72 and re click on the post to GPSTC button and it opens on the sailor session page.
Thanks Georgio. I will give that a try next time. It works for everyone else too....but not me. Don't know if it is the new computer that I bought 6 months ago but ever since I have had it the thing is not going across to GPSTC with my data. the new computer is an ACER laptop using 64 bit Windows 11 Home version. That sounds very tech savvy of me but I had to Google to see what Windows it has inside.
You can always manually upload, that's been the case from day one, in fact it was the only way for years.
As Georgio says, My Data > New Session
The trouble in the past with KA72, was because it was looking at
www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au
instead of.
www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au
the s after http makes a lot of difference. Just make sure when you log in, the s is there.
And I hope that works.
The other thing you can do, (and this is my preferred method) , download GPSSpeadreader, it's only "beer money"
hit file > view in browser, scroll down a bit, then export to GPSteamchallenge.
Thanks Decrepit. I didn't quite follow the www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au instead of www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au bit but the bit about http I had found by googling this problem months ago but I couldn't remember whether I needed an s or no s. Will get my son to help make the computer put an s there if it isn't already there. And thanks for your suggestion Sue. James was my first contact and he made some suggestions but they didn't fix what was happening...or in this case...not happening.
That's the problem with the rich text editor. it removed the and from the front of the www. in both cases.
Sorry I didn't see that had happened.
Lets try with this plain text and see if it's better.
www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au
www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au
Bugger, that doesn't work either, how are you meant to explain what's happening when the site removes the critical bit of info?????
I raised this as a topic a month or so ago.
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Gps/Download-of-results-from-KA72-to-GPSTC-is-not-working?page=1#20
Dylan from KA72 posted the following 'workaround'. The following is the relevant screen shot from the topic.
His first post describes the problem. The second post is the workaround. It works for me.
Thanks John. It must have been your post that I found when I last sailed and had no success with the postings. Sue must have read the same thing as she said to log out then login again. Mind you each time I click on the "Post to GPSTC" button it gives me the message about connection not being secure and when it takes me to the team challenge there is no http or https or www in front of the gpsteamchallenge so I can only assume that it is the http version seeing as it is not doing what it is supposed to. I have downloaded GPS Speedreader as suggested by Decrepit and had success there so will continue with that.
I deleted my history in Google. I then typed in the correct URL and opened the site. I then saved the URL to my phone screen and computer screen. Now when ready to upload, I open the correct URL via my phone screen or computer screen, then log off and then on from GPSTC, then push the download button on KA72. This works every time.
C,mon all you tech nerds . It used to work perfectly even for a squid like me . Then it only worked transferring from the little global symbol , now not at all . Have to do it manually . I just want to push the ," post to GPSTC button " , like in the good ol days . Is it really that hard to get it to simply work like it used to ? Why did someone have to fiddle with it , and now it's broken . Why didn't they just leave the blood,y thing alone ?
Its enough to make me and want to throw my computer like a grumpy old man , stamp my feet and blame young people for everything. It's their fault with their fancy phones and fancy hair . Nobody listens to their parents anymore .Join the army , that'd fix em .
In case your wondering , yesterday's sail was crap , and I haven't had my poo this morning .
Thanks John. I will try that deleting the google history etc. Having a button that does what it says ("Post to GPSTC") seems like such a straightforward thing (and it was in times gone by) but having to login then logout for it to work just doesn't seem to make sense. Especially for non computer geniuses....I don't understand how logging in and logging out has anything to do with the next time it logs in at the request of the KA72 site. I liked it when the "Post to GPSTC" button did what it said. Maybe my wife is right....I am becoming a grumpy old man.

It is that easy, just download GPSspeadreader, buy Peter a beer, viw results in browser and push the "upload to GPSTC" button.
You get the added advantage of complete analyse of your session, "export to Google Earth" gives you the pretty colour coded tracks.
As far as I'm aware, the upload to KA72 was changed by the security nerds that control the internet. GPSTC is still where it was originally written, and nobody has got around to updating it yet.
OH yes, hope you have a good poo and feel better soon.

Mike, It's great that GPSspeedreader is an option, but for the vast majority of us who like to post and share our tracks on KA72, it would be good if the KA72 post to GPSTC button worked, without the have to implement the workaround. What the chances of getting GPSTC updated?

You may remember a while ago, some alterations were promised, to allow under specified units to post. we're still waiting for them. I suspect KA72 compatibility will have to join the rather long queue of stuff waiting to get done.
Just to let those that had concern for me know, I thank you. I did a great poo and had an even better sail today. I don't feel grumpy anymore.
Life is good

Then two days later, I hit a sand bank at full speed and blew my sail to smithereens
Ripped the whole clew out, never seen that happen.

Better the gear is wrecked than you...

Looks like your monofilm has deteriorated and gone brittle.

I bet that gave you the poo's
Good to see you're ok, as Sue said, better the gear
My apologies to ka72. I have come to the conclusion that gpsteamchallenge is the problem. The gps speedreader takes me to the home page of gpsteamchallenge the same as ka72 does. I have to manually enter my speeds into the "Post session" section, whichever one I use.....the info is not carried across to the "Post Session" page like it used to. I find this strange that certain gps devices are not allowed onto the gpsteamchallenge yet when you manually post your speeds a dishonest person can put what they want.
Try clearing your cache. it's going to the insecure site, instead of the secure one.
The url needs to start with https not http

I had the same problem, clearing the cache didn't work, so switched to Firefox and it worked.

Entering manually is an honesty thing . But can be checked against in ka72 to see who is fudging .
I now cant post to KA72 automatically after years of doing so. So the last week or so Ive been doing it manually. Just copy what KA72 loads, no brainer.

115 kg x 30 kts coming to a instant stop , something has to give . RSX booms are bloody strong .
and...
somebody saw it happen , so I suppose it was wort it
I have found in chrome on windows I have to open an incognito browser session but then posting from ka72 to GPSTC works on the 2nd click. Not the first.
Well it did until I got banned for a month. Ooppss.
