How far does 70 litres of petrol get you when burnt in a controlled fashion? Aluminium is 31 MJ per kilogram but it doesn't put CO2 into the atmosphere.
Don't worry about charging the atmosphere with CO2 from your winsdsurfing gear, it's minor in the scheme of things. 43 forecast for tomorrow! Might be the hottest feb on record?

It means he saved already planet 4,000 litres of petrol. Releasing few kilos of hydrocarbon in atmosphere doesn't mean much.
BTW New lithium phosphate battery is still way to go for all campers. Now ready to go from Renogy even only $900 per 100Ah 48v. I bought one of thise , tested. 108 Ah!
Additional nice future about Renogy beside that is nicely build , safe and only 27kg is button like our Motion. 3 second push . Turn off. 3 s push turn on. Easy. No need to plug or unplug. In Sailquick situation this battery BMS also cut of power automatically when shortcut or overheating.

I did the calculations from my tailpipe once. Frightening. Must have done the Canberra to the coast trip 100 times in the 25 yrs I lived there. A 360km round trip. 36,000 km at 10 litres per 100km = 3,600 litres. Each litre produces 2.3 kg of Co2. That's 8.2 tonnes of Co2. And, according to climate scientists, a disturbance to atmospheric balance takes a 50year half-life to self-correct. Most of it is still up there! And that's just trips to Broulee! What do you do?

Yes we need to do something. Pre-industrial levels of CO2 were 280ppm. When I was born it was 300ppm. It has just passed 420 ppm. So 120 parts of that 140ppm rise has occurred under my watch! Probably 130 of yours.
It's mind boggling how many KM we can drive to windsurf and surf.
In my last van: 110,000 Km in 3 years, a high proportion of that on windsurfing trips to WA, SA and up the east coast!!
The van before that had 530, 000 km on it when I retired it. I got it at 180, 000 and piled up the 350,000 in around 10 years including 2 trips from Vic to WA and back and many, many trips to SA and Qld! I guesstimate I averaged about 12L/100K over that life.
