Great pics, Dez and Wayne! Cracking pics of Tibor and Irene, Bryson, and Mitch. Captured them perfectly, Dez! What a blissful weekend! All of the "out of towners" make the event so special. (Rick, Remi, Bryson, Mitch, Wayne, Dez, Anthony, Berowne, Justin (and partners!))Thanks to Byron, Muz, James(for their work, all year, for this), and our (mostly) non-sailing (legendary) volunteers John, Ron, Glen W, and Baz. (please correct me if I've forgotten anyone?) Special mention to Ian Wright who does so much of the stuff that hardly anyone remembers needs to be done! The wind wasn't in our corner this year but I'm not really sure I care too much as it just meant I got to hang out and chat (and drink!) with a community I'm stoked to be part of!
another great week at one of the best sailing spots on the east coast thank you to all the organisers for their efforts to run a great event thank you to the volunteers for your time.. and company what a top crew of people to go away with.. I was rather surprised to recive the encouragement trophy very happy since I have so much fun and don't take the racing seriously any more cant wait to go back in feb.
good pic of our gear under the trees
Great pics, as usual, Sue.
Thanks. I have a lot more . How do I offer the option of having all of them so people can take the ones they want without using Dropbox?
Well, the event we would prefer not to talk about (wind wise) other than it was a nice relaxing weekend away , did yield 3 results from the GPS session.
Given the light conditions which filled in during the final 7 minutes of the session could have resulted in some bigger upsets and the foils could have shined brighter. The last minute increase in breeze allowed the fins to gain some valuable speed and take out the 10sec and NM, however the Alpha 500 was won by Jeff on the foil (this may also be a result of the 9.45hrs he dedicates to sailing every week on the foil no matter what), well done mate, the times are a changing.
Also of note is that many people recorded their best and more reflective of their skill outside of the time limit, so unfortunately these results did not count.
I'm working on the combined series score and intend to have it out by the weekend.
Heat 3 - Lake Macquaire 9th and 10th January 2021 - Canceled
After much consideration the Committee has elected to cancel this weekends racing based on the following;
1. Poor forecast (8-10knts maximum)
2. Predicted poor attendance based on poor forecast
3. COVID situation in Sydney (minor consideration)
We now look ahead for Heat 5 at Myall Lakes which will now constitute the State Slalom Title should we get favorable conditions.
Thanks for letting us know and thanks for all the work all summer with race committees and boats and permits etc
Updated Myall results, apparently one of the foil guys thought he went pretty good plus a few stragglers results included.
I'd like to thank my counsel, Rudi Guiliani, for helping to overturn the previously issued "fraudulent" results for Myall. Fortunately, us foilers weren't required to "storm the Capitol" (Muz's place at Valo) in order to get "justice". All is forgiven, mate.
Whaaat? I'm still trying to get score 1 from Illawarra corrected, how did you do it Boston? Ps congrats on your current event ranking, foiling very well

The poor guy had no choice, you were into him hard.
State Tiles - Take two
Due to poor conditions at the previous attempt to run the States, our next event back at Myall Lakes will now give anyone who couldn't make the last one a second chance to contest the Sate Slalom Title plus take part in Heat 5 of the Series.
A variety of categories and races are planned to keep it interesting for everyone including;
1. GPS - Total distance over time (30min to 1hr sessions)
2. GPS - Multi Category sessions (2 sec, 10 sec, nm, alpha)
3. Slalom - Downwind "M" and figure of 8
4. Slalom - long course
Fin, foil or both anything goes.
Still plenty of accommodation options available including
1. Myall Shores
2. Mungo Brush National Park Camping
3. Hawks Nest (20 minutes drive + ferry)
4. Bulahdelah (20 minutes drive dirt road)
I have a waterfront site booked for 27&28 Feb however can no longer attend :(
Anyone needing accommodation let me know and I'll transfer it to you.
Sorry guys, wish I could be there :(
