Peter n has asked me to put out the call for the next hookup. 21/6
He said bribie again but wanted final location to be selected by the group. Please put forward ideas.
Anyone that wants to join in peter has racks full of one designs to be used. Retractable centreboards, clamp booms. Just let him know who needs what.
Or
BYOLB.....ie. Bring your own longboard
Or
Go to your local recycle centre and pick up a board for peanuts. Any longboard in good nick will do the job. Lots of guys using gear found this way. Sometimes you need to track down suitable fin and tweak the uni to suit your freeride sails.
whilst not as good as a one design there is a tc spacer being given away on gumtree. Caloundra area. didn't see a centreboard or fin in the ad???
the word on the street is don't forget your shortboards!!
same bat place, same bat space, same bat boards.
I was hoping to get along with my new Kona, however due to the forecast of reasonably strong winds I think I better sit it out due to dislocating my shoulder at Cootharaba two weekends ago during a squall. It is still quite sore and don't want to make it worse! Hopefully next time I can join you.
Have fun!
Ken.
Well, judging by today the wind could be a bit softer tomorrow, and my shoulder has improved a bit, so I may get there after all?
I will see how it looks in the morning and make the final decision then, I am pretty keen though. So I hope conditions will suit.

You can do it ken. We want to see the Kona :-)
What time is everyone meeting?
High tide is 12:30. So probably sailable from 9:30ish
I'm aiming for early so as to make it a long day probably around 9 to guarantee a park
Cheers Jeff.
Bring a little fin if you want to get on water really early
Had a great time with you all fella's & ladies. Got in the foot straps today for the first time ever!
Loving the Kona, it's just what I needed to progress, while having fun at the same time.
Feeling pretty tired and sore now though. Will sleep well tonight.
Cheers till next time.
Ken.
Fantastic day. Great turn out. Good to see everybody. Added bonus when the wind filled in a little and gave us a squirt on the short boards. I'm feeling that "good kind of sore". Look at these green arrow's for next weekend. Thanks Pete for bringing extra Wally's. Thanks Justin for letting me go in front of you. Nobody tell Josh when the next one's on.
Yep agreed, was a fun day and yep, feeling sore.
Thanks to Justin and Pete for organising the day, and to everyone else for the good company and tips.
Looking forward to the arrow and tide Gods aligning for the next one.
On a side note, the photo shows Tonynowork carrying in his latest Variable Random Concave Design board.
Look for VRCD to be the next big thing in the new season boards.
Yes it was fun. Wallys are diabolical. They don't turn. They just tip you off. :)
I also found they don't like going upwind on a port tack
cheers all.
had a blast!! next time dags!
had a chuckle when kellie took off on that broadreach and I could hear you yelling "ok, racing's finished now"
i had a chat with pete re next session.
how is everyone placed for the 19th of july. high tide 11.30am.
same place.

My Wally kept me dry yesterday, and it was turning quite tight around those mark's. It did go up on it's side once, but still kept me dry.
Sounds good so far. Is that the real date? Or is that what we're telling Josh?
who's josh?
