Thumbs Up

Hi Greg - thanks again for all the support to Omen owners and prospective owners.

I just got a new 84l flux on the water and it looks like there's been a few improvements to the previous one. It could just be in my mind but it feels like the bottom shape might be tweaked slightly, front strap inserts positioned at a bigger offset angle, carry fin has room to shift mast further forward, maybe foil box further forward, board leash plug on the top deck (the old location was cooler :-) but the new location drags the leash in the water less), diamond pattern deck pad, and maybe a different mast/board angle(?) and stiffer layup in certain areas(?).

All very subtle but positive changes - riding felt more stable on the water when stinkbug starting, and I had more glide/better pumping control.

Any chance you could confirm the tweaks/improvements :-)
Cheers!

Omen

Thumbs Up

Happy to Kiwiupover! Really appreciate you taking the time to post and share the stoke :)

We're constantly making little tweaks to our boards and foils to get the best possible performance and user experience. Although the annual release cycle does come with some benefits, I've never been a big fan of it, and it especially clashes with the philosophy of a boutique product line like ours.

I really love working with Appletree for this reason. In addition to their construction method striking the perfect balance of performance, feel, and longevity - it allows us maximum flexibility since we don't commit to any molds. The per board cost is a lot higher, however we have a ton of flexibility and aren't under pressure to sell a ton of boards to cover the overhead cost which was probably a big factor in releasing the Flux which was a pretty unconventional shape when it launched last year.

Similarly with the foils, doing our manufacturing of the wings and ICE/NoLimitz with the masts allows us the ability to continuously refine and improve.

Ultimately I like the freedom to be able to introduce improvements to our equipment as soon as they are ready and tested rather than either waiting until the next product cycle or worse forcing something in when it's not quite ready in order to "meet a deadline".

Glad you're loving the board!

Greg
