For me it's the JL 8'5 Destroyer. I want an all round board with performance but mainly beach break board and its time to step up from the Allwave. Since my heart attack and subsequent recovery I have lost about 15 kg to be about 80ish kg and it seems to be staying off so the 160L Allwave is a bit big these days.
I just wish I could try one to see it it lives up to the glowing reviews it seems to get.
What are you eating differently to keep the weight off?
Gidday lessupsolutions, simple (to say) really.
I eat like my life depends on it.
I probably ( most definitely ) ate too much chocolate and ice cream and salt. So now I stay away from sugar, salt, fat (saturated) and processed foods as much as possible. The contents of my fridge and pantry have changed drastically and I am in a position where I can and do most of the cooking for the family so they eat what I dish up. It takes some adjusting taste wise, but I don't want to go through another surgery again.
The new Starboard Pro 7'7"x28 107 L is super interesting to me, in the Limited construction so it doesn't cost >$3k USD. Guessing it will be hard to find for a long time. I like the idea of a 7-7 board I could potentially paddle at 180 lb + suit that's not a real funky shape.

Bobajob,
Congratulations on changing your eating habits and caring for the family in general!!!!!! I have to give you a lot of credit for your resolve to live by committing to a new way of life not socially common or accepted or understood. Easy to say, rarely achieved. For the few, who see food as both pleasure and survival, one can learn a lot at nutritionfacts.org.
Incredible statistics from the CDC in the US:
The US obesity prevalence was 42.4% in 2017 - 2018. From 1999 -2000 through 2017 -2018, US obesity prevalence increased from 30.5% to 42.4%. During the same time, the prevalence of severe obesity increased from 4.7% to 9.2%. Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer.
Eat more: fresh salads, vegetables from the garden, whole grains, legumes, various spicy dishes, herbs, oatmeal, flax meal, fresh fruit, unsalted nuts, seeds, sprouts, dietary fiber, ...
So you can spend many more years on the water!!!

Be happy to buy that 160L Allwave to learn on, but I'm in the US, so it would cost an arm and a leg to ship this way...

Just curious ..the one board you wish to try or buy and why?
For me, an Infinity Blurr V2.
For two reasons: I never tried Dave Boehne shapes, nor step rails.
Why not? the price is quite steep for me in France, more than twice a full carbon PVC sandwich board...
The Naish Penetrator..
DJ,
That is Hilarious! I remember that vid and the board!!

I thought it was gold that they actually surfed it
Infinity blurr V2.
Considering getting a custom done in that profile as there is no longer an Oz distributor and shipping to Australia is prohibitive from the US.
That's a pretty specific reason...
if OH, purchase a stun gun instead. The soft tail rail lets it hold on a big face, late drop... among other things...
Destroyers are an all round wave board... not a tube riding board.
Too much volume in nose and rail on a destroyer for that imo, although i'm sure it could be done - it's not ideal.
Here's Kealii riding a Stun Gun in Tahiti
Great video, great surfing and great music btw.
Anyone know the title of the song?

Mate, I thought the same about my 10 x 28 Revolution, but it's the board that I surf the most now. Surely a 27 wide couldn't be any more difficult lol

LOL ....IT'S ONLY A NUMBER
I own 3 Genrations (got them way early and not nearly as many as Creek), a custom carbon 10'x33 that weighs 6.8kg, and a custom Bill Foote, but I still look upon Infinity's with envy.
I hit Dave up for a custom while back, but he didn't get back to until after I got 2 of my Genrations. Maybe one day....
SIC Atlantis 14 x 24 and 14 x 22
