Got out yesterday on North Chesterman. Nice waist high waves. You will see Wendy my wife at the end and Jasper our little yellow lab. About midway through I pick up a tiny wave but the next wave behind me looked great. Wave selection becomes such an important part of the beach break. Also towards the end I stuff the nose of the Speeed on a drop. I can't remember when I last pearled with this board. I was beginning to think it was immune. Temperature was around 0 deg C. My hands got a bit cold with only 1.5 mm gloves. Feet were fine with 3 mm Solite boots and socks. Music is by Grayson Gilmour our nephew and new dad in New Zealand. Very talent musician and composer.
Cheers

Rapid Creek.
Sou'westerlies - horrid conditions.
Plenty of wind swell but... geez. Spent more time in the drink than on the Style.
Got a few burgers and went in. The wind's easing, so I'll be back for more (punishment) tomorrow...

Good to hear - what's the wildlife situation up there at the moment?
Well, funny you should ask Nozz'! I found this bloke in a trap just down from Chez Mango yesterday arvo in Rapid Creek. Just up from my local - where I got waves this morning.
Not sure if the photo does any justice, but it's a Salty - you can see him smiling!
And plenty of these...
Some cracking storms...
And plenty of shady, quiet water-holes for some downtime to reflect on the shape of my next Search...
Yes we have swell at Long bay on Aucklands east coast. Body a bit sore from 2 sessions yesterday.
Got to get work done and afternoon session looking good.
Wow keen to surf in zero degrees in Canada
Equally keen for you dudes in NT with salty
I decided not to paddle out
but I felt the fortress shake.... does that count?
Made the entire SUP world suspect, as I went to the big stage... in full Kook mode
I am making a vid of the entire experience. Hard to get it down to "postable size"
Good wave choices Creek......went out at point today. Didn't the previous two days.....was big and uglyish.
Using my Leyland Leopard as my surf wagon at moment.....gotta think about parking spots though

Excellent vid and very nicely put together. A bit of slowing on some of waves? Are you wearing a waist leash....or am i just seeing things?
Paddling with my daughter ..on sun down ..nalu's .
Magic stuff Tardy - you've captured it all in those couple of pics mate - family, out on the water, a smile and a wave at sunset - it's what it's all about (... and maybe a cold frosty or two afterwards eh...)

Thanks Griz
Yes I wear a waist leash. Works great especially when the waves are a bit bigger.

Got there in dark.....put suit on in dark. Walked down hill track with light on head. Someone was already out in the dark (always think something is going to bite me)
Using my Leyland bus as surf wagon at moment. TB says he has vid nearly ready of him driving his RV
