Yep, it should be there. Try to refresh the settings page? F5 on Windows, Apple+R on Mac.
1.30am here, next answer tomorrow probably
I used a different browser and then could see the new setting to choose 1,2, 5 or 10Hz.
I did a stationary test at 5 Hz and 10 Hz and compared the results to my M8Logger.
The Motion appears to log a maximum of 18 satellites in both settings. The results were very good on both settings with my logger only giving marginally lower errors when it was tracking 25 satellites. It should be noted the old version of firmware also looked very good.
If I had two Mini Motions it would be interesting to try 5 and 10 Hz at the same time and compare the results ideally on the water.
The thing I liked about the Mini Motion was that there were no settings. So it was impossible for a user to stuff it up.
I guess the questions that people are going to ask are:
1. Do I need to update my firmware as it appears to have been working well for years.
2. Of the four new settings which ones are approved for posting to GPSTC?
3. Which one is likely to give the best results?
The GPSTC website says that the Motion devices must be used at 5 or 10 Hz so I guess that answers question 2.
I have my own thoughts on Question 3. But I would be interested to hear what Julien and the GPSTC admin have to say.
Personally I have no real idea.
But I suspect it will vary, for 2s recording with good sat reception, in theory I think 10hz should be a little more accurate. But in marginal conditions the extra sats could make 5hz better. We'll need to do more testing to try and confirm.
In practice I doubt it will make a heap of difference. 5hz has the other advantage of half the size files.
Updated to 3020 this morning and used it on water today. Perfect... as it has been since new.
Have also found the 10hz, 5hz, etc logging rate option in the settings (using iPhone); now all I will do is wait for 'those who know' to select between 5 and 10 as the gold standard for all to use for the least issues.
Am truly thankful for the invention, banter, discussion, opinions and reflections of 'those in the know' so as to provide GPS sailors like me with such a convenient and accurate device.

1. No. The device was tested and approved with the older firmware and performed at least as well as is required. The 'issues' that have been described recently are extremely rare, and even in the very unlikely event that they do occur in posted data, (No instances have been found or reported) it is very unlikely to have any material effect on the results.
2. The Mini Motion Logger is only currently approved for posting on GPSTC @ 10Hz. It is very likely that it can be approved @ 5Hz in the future (as the LCD Motion is). It probably will not be approved at lower than 5Hz in line with the LDC Motion and other Ublox M8 based GNSS devices.
3. Define 'best results'?
If you mean, which is likely to find the fastest section of a 2 second or 10 second speed run, that is most certainly running @ 10Hz.
If you mean which is likely to be the most accurate, I would say it is @10Hz, but that will need to be investigated in more detail.
In either case, the difference is likely to be completely insignificant for our practical purposes.
I have two identical Mini Motions and will be testing the different parameters and settings in the new firmware ASAP and reporting the results to the GPSTC Administrative Advisory Panel.
Personally I have no real idea.

Andrew reported above that the logger used the same max amount of sats in his initial test@ 5Hz Mike, so that may not be any benefit in that respect. Perhaps it could be if the 18 sat limit is lifted for 5Hz.

By "best results" I mean all things considered which one should we use.
If the 10Hz can select the fastest section of the 2 sec run and be more accurate then that seems like the obvious choice. But then why has Julien bothered to give us these other options? Obviously they produce smaller files but nobody has been complaining about that.
The 5 Hz option incudes the Galileo satellites, which may in difficult reception circumstances produce more accurate results.
To test this is actually the case we would need to wear two identical devices in a non optimal position, say in an aquapac or perhaps on the wrist and see if the 5Hz setting gives more accurate results. We would need a third device say on your head to compare them to!
I agree Andrew that we are discussing the fine detail here. The key to good accurate files is not what Hz rate you choose or which firmware you have it is how you wear it.
- Sailquik asked to bring back user-defined update rates in the previous page.
- It was in the plans anyway, the firmwares will grow back to the USB version with maps and charts and custom pages and stuff.
- There's a handful of users who use the USB version for trails, I'll bring back even lower rates for them when maps/routes come back.
- Constellations improve. Since M8's release, GPS added 12 SV and GLONASS 13 SV.
Out of interest. Who has received their LCD motion order in the last month or so?
No one here I'd assume, they all went to England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium. The last three to Australia were version 8, it's version 10 now.
If I send the first devices of a new version to Australia, I'll only know about issues three weeks later when more devices have already been built and I'm off all these devices, the shipping costs and later the replacement shipping costs. I can't risk it.
Now, as everything seems fine with the first devices, I expect the first ones to Australia to ship next week in a big batch.
Question, it's been 4 weeks since ou last enquiry as to who has received a Motion LCD order? so, ill ask again. Has anybody or any teams received any devices yet??? Our order of LCD Motions stem back to 27Th March 2020, from what I hear, there are others that have ordered earlier than that. It would be really comforting to know that at least some effort has been made to commence fulfilling Australian orders and not just the European market.
So, if you have received your order, what did you receive, and how long did it take? This would benefit us all who have been patient.

I'll get it done. They'll all ship between now and month end. Everything's **** and I'm increasingly pissed off. It's like a never-ending story of finding tricks to solve problems that shouldn't happen.
On a positive note, users who received them all seem happy and there's zero issue so far.
Same here - no unit received, no email reply for many months though I have paid my unit in July 2020. .
Pingu from Europe
You're 2 devices from here.
To avoid confusion on why someone who paid in July 2020 is this "close", Farang entered the queue in September 2019. And to avoid another confusion, there isn't many paid devices left in the queue as I have not taken payments for LCDs in a long while. Ever since my other job pays the bills really.
I receive a lot of emails every day, currently amplified by friends of each user receiving his, and I'm not on top of it. If you entered the queue a while ago, I have not forgotten you. If your device is paid, it'll ship soon. If you have an LCD with lines, I'll replace it indeed. If you enter the queue now, sorry it'll take months. If you sent a complex question, I'll get back to you during the weekend.
Big departures tomorrow.
FedEx prices doubled. They even quit offering "Economy" service.
Getting price-gouged on some fairly common electronic parts.
If you are Australian, want a Mini (not an LCD) and do not have a team to order with, please reach out to me now by email julien@motion-gps.com so I can tag you along to some parcels leaving these next weeks. If you contacted me about it previously, please contact me again.
If you are waiting for an LCD (or more), it's coming.
It's going to be a long month. :|

I went to the website week ago, and there is no information for price. And also does not show me how it use it, bind on the board or on the arm. I searched on YouTube and not much information as well. I ordered one and have not get reply yet.
So I asked here. Hope you understand me.
It is so popular sounds like.
I need to think about prices right now. Devices aren't impacted because I'm mostly consuming parts stocks I made earlier but shipping prices have skyrocketed. For perspective: 140 AUD for 1.5kg to Melbourne.
Here's how to use the Mini you inquired about: www.motion-gps.com/motion/documentation/first-start-wireless-mini.html

My 2c worth.
I waited for ages to get my first bulk order of Mini-motions and it was truly worth the wait. Julien has been very transparent about all the issues he has encountered along the way in sourcing quality components and in building a reliable device. I again am on a waiting list for another bulk order and the recipients of these devices are happy to wait in order to get one. GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT.
Motsbane... pm sent. Can help answer some of your enquiries. Cheers.
Thank you!
I got mine 2 days ago after waiting for ages BUT YES, I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH IT NOW . By the way, that biceps band that came with the Motion GPS is perfect for an Optimum Time sailing watch too .
Many, Many, Thanks Julien!

Beautiful looking product Julien . Well done. Still loving my mini
FedEx have advised that my LCD Motion will be delivered today!
The new LCD Motion unpacked and charging. Thanks Julien.
All devices leaving now are either replacements for the "black lines on screen" issue, or devices paid when the issue was found out, or devices paid when the project needed financial support (thank you).
Farang above entered the queue December 2019 as I had the question before.
Once these are all done, I'll tackle the unpaid non-binding waiting list.
So it'll be January 2022 before everything is resorbed and one can enter and receive a device in 3 weeks or so.
But to give some perspective: it's a miracle they are back. This is LCD trial #10. Plus casings changed, buttons are now protruding, strap underneath, everything is wireless.
In other news, more parts have arrived, casings have doubled in price and I'm discussing with UPS to replace FedEx.
