I thought the Tenacious D incident was interesting. My initial thoughts were it was just a poorly timed joke, maybe a slip of the tongue. A simple apology should have solved it.

But the incident took a life of its own. I heard some guy on 3AW today who went on about it for maybe 10 minutes like the world had come to an end. Couldn't quite work out if he was just being theatrical or was dead serious, I think it was the latter.

Maybe they should stick to lounge music.

I don't think the Dems are more violent. Currently the Repubs have the weirdo vote sewn up and one would expect more crazy violence from them, just my impression.

The reality is that the US is a big crazy nation, with a lot of good and a lot of negative. But overall more good.

Crazies are on both sides, I think it's easy to hang it on the Rep's as their rural southern voters are an easy target. But the Dem's aren't far off if you snap some photos of some blue haired art student protesters.

The USA is comprised of two wildly different groups forced to live together in harmony. The British should intervene separate them like they did with India and Pakistan.

Trump will be good for Bitcoin. He is the keynote speaker at Bitcoin 2024, the biggest gathering of cryptocurrency fans, in a few days time. Not only does Trump support it, he is looking at banning CBDC's. J.D. Vance also owns a lot of Bitcoin, and favours less regulation of crypto.

The other thing in Bitcoins favour is the global instability a Trump predisdency will bring.

Now that Biden is out and Trump is running against Harris he will really have to watch his comments as he could get female voters offside very quickly.

You'd think so.

I'm not convinced.
Maybe some of the undecided? But I can't believe that he'll be able to say anything worse about women than he already has that will change minds of those already choosing to vote for him.

you sure about that ?

Don't wanna get all PM33 on you'se but I can only assume that there is some big surprise coming. Because surely Biden and his team haven't fumbled through to get to this point to pull out in such a degrading and uncontrllled manner simply through rank ineptitude ?

..or maybe they have.

Has anyone told Joe yet he has pulled out ? I guess not, as he said, he only functions from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

I can't understand why women even vote for him. He is an advocate for them behind closed doors.

Some of Trump's past comments about women:

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: "She doesn't have the look. She doesn't have the stamina, I said she doesn't have the stamina, and I don't believe she does have the stamina."

Former Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina: "Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?"

Senator Elizabeth Warren: "Goofy Elizabeth Warren, one of the least productive US Senators, has a nasty mouth."

Journalist Megyn Kelly: "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever."

Assault accuser E Jean Carroll: "No 1, she's not my type. No 2, it never happened. It never happened, OK?"

Rosie O'Donnell: "She's a slob. How does she even get on television? If I were running The View, I'd fire Rosie. I'd look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers and say, 'Rosie, you're fired.'"

Ivanka Trump: "She does have a very nice figure. I've said if Ivanka weren't my daughter perhaps I'd be dating her."

Former White House aide Omarosa Newman: "When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn't work out."

To be fair though MSN, they aren't really quotes about "women" are they.

They are things said against the individual, who happens to also be a woman. I'd be pretty sure Trump has said worse against individuals who are men, and also pleasant things about individuals who support him, who are women.

I'd also reckon women have said worse things about other women.

If you want to show anti-woman tendancies you'd have to find quotes against women as a whole, or that such words are only said against women.

Although, Biden is probably more pro-women. He even once confirmed that over half of the women in his administration are women. Or something like that, who really knows.

The language Trump consistently uses towards Women suggests he doesn't see them as equal to men.

Oh, did you not realize.... Biden no longer in the race for POTUS

Yeah, I realised.

I realised it several years ago.

Although I'd assumed there was a better plan than...deny deny deny, panic, panic, panic, withdraw and leave a void.

Seems once again I was wrong.

Didn't Joe say only God could tell him to stand down. And then didn't he say he would only stand down on medical advice ?

So, assuming God didn'thave a little chat because he is too busy telling PM33 how he made the world flat, then presumably he recieved medical advice from his doctor that he wasn't fit to stand. I wonder if anyone else is allowed to see a copy of the doctor's prognosis ?

Not true. She still has to be nominated by the party conference, where anyone else can run too.
So not a coup , just the usual democratic processs.
Anyway, ozzies aren't too concerned about our parties choosing our prime minister, we don't vote him in.
But don't let the truth get in the way of a meme.
