MESSAGE TO SPENCER
NUMBER 1 AND NUMBER 2 are off to Fiji for all of April
for an intensive training camp
leading up to the TASSIE SUP WINTER CLASSIC and byo demo day.
CAN YOU MAKE IT
NOT ONLY CAN TAS OFFER
FAIR AND UNBIASED SUP ADVISE
BUT WE ARE THE BEST CRICKETERS IN AUS
AND WILL CERTAINLY WIN THE SHEFFIELD SHIELD
The reformed Park Beach Boardriders Club are stoked to have so many SUP riders sign up to the club so we are just looking for some feedback so we can cater for your needs, so if you can let us know what your are looking for out of being members of the club that would be great. Some ideas so far that we run a series of small comps over the year that will include short boarders, long boarders & sups at the same event with a club champion to be named in each discipline at the end of the season, we are also looking at maybe at tag team event with each team made up of say 2 shorties, 2 longies & 2 sups, so if you have any thoughts please share them so we can all work together to make the club work for all involved.
Been a great week head high and over surf last few days . Great fun on the longboard , still not able to get out into the bigger stuff on the SUP , any tips greatly appreciated.
Today ,40 knot winds , storms , local flooding , 2.8 meter swell , snow to 2 foot deep in the hills , have got the snow gear packed TGIF .
Good to hear from you TD
Just keep trying
You need to fall off 2,000 times
before you start clinbing up the
all important learning curve.
We were all the same and balancing
in the chop is the hardest skill to pick up,
Especially if you're immobile and just waiting
for a set.
Come down here for a few days and
we'll show you some special secrets.
Billboard is probably leading you astray.
Ahh .. and the other thing is ..
have you got the right paddle
for the job ???
Great advice Tony
Went out late this afternoon after playing in the snow this morning , tried falling off 1000 times - still no good
Tried a different paddle - instant improvement . Have got one of those paddles of yours on my shopping list .
Will definitely take you up on the offer of a surf next time I head south of the border .don't get down that way much, hard to get me away from the northwest .Best kept secret in Australa just dont tell the mainlanders how nice it is

Check that address above for the Watersport TAS Paddle site.
Hope I've done it right .. not very good at computor stuff.
Cheers

Get yourself a quickblade TD - 2nd best paddle Ive ever owned (after my starby) and will make a huge difference to your sup'ing - they are the best selling paddle in the world for a reason.
Never heard of a quicknlade before.
Are they environmentally friendly ..
organic .. made locally .. properly foiled.
or do they just look like a thin black disc
with slicy razor edges .. that are made in
third world countries .. for nothing, giving
distributors and retailers the biggest margins.
I really don't know .. just wondering.

Sorry 2mt - didnt realise you were not-for-profit
You've lost your cred Billboard because
you are jumping from brand to brand ..
and selling and recommending now what
you were bagging in the recent past.
You are in it ONLY for profit.
Who are you billboard? - is that an old photo of Chris Chalmer's with an amazing grace board looking out over outside XXXX point? That you posted?
Cheers
Mick ( ex pat Tasmanian ) stuck in the big smoke of Sydney at the moment.

Obviously some clarification is needed 2mt - I do not sell boards commercially - I do not work for, or promote for any shop - I also do not bag out any boards, other than psh and naish that I have been doing so for years, and thats usually in jest.
I buy my sups like everyone else down here does and I make no apologies for speaking highly of the boards or paddles I use because I believe in giving credit where its due.

Pull the other one Billboard
it plays Jinglebells
Sounds like a bit of friction in the ranks there fellows. I hope not.
You guys have been a shining light as group.
Keep smiling.
ET.
The board at Park Beach Boardriders Club have penciled in a tag team comp when the water gets a bit warmer, each team will consist of 1grom, 1 shortboarder, 1 longboarder & 1 sup, so it might be a good time to start getting a team together and putting in some practice, if you cant get a team together you are more than welcome to enter and we will hopefully be able to sort a team for you.
if you wish to be part of this you will also need to join PBBR Club, but at only $20 for membership that shouldn't be to much of a stretch. PM us and we will email you a membership form If you are not already a member.

Good to see a bit of integration with the other surfers, but what about the boogers and kneelos ?

So far we only have 1paid up booger member and I don't think I have seen a kneelo around for over 20 years apart from the odd sup rider that paddles around on their knees, but if we get some enquires we will do our best to accommodate them
