WHEN THE AIRPORT IS EXTENDED
Stooges will look like this :: ...
Rights and lefts
I'm thinking of taking out a Wave Farm Lease
on the area ... I think it'll work.
BIGman good to hear from you.
BUT don't be so negative, all the
surfers are green/ish and so it's
all happening.
You and Spencer left a big void
down here .. but don't worry
we're getting your share as well
just to make sure there aren't
too many unridden waves getting
through .. no need to hurry back.
There's a really hot Jimmy Lewis
following down here now .. and
bamboo paddles.
Surf flat here, but scored some good waves down at Lennox last weekend with my son.
Those retro paddles looking pretty cool 2mt, oh yeah, I'm under the 30" threshhold at last, riding JP 8'6"x 29, 110 L, absolutely rips
It's that time of the year when
our minds turn to Summer
water activities .. Especially SUP.
And there are a few ladies getting in
early and wanting to formalise sessions
for company and mutual support.
Let's know if you're interested and we'll
try to point you in the right direction.
One option may be to contact Julesx who
has been keen to run classes.
Hope I get some of that stuff when I am down that way in February and March. Maybe not so hollow though.
I think I might just know where that is. Is there a campground at the end of the beach?
Looks great.
ET.
That's Betsy Island in the background ET
You won't have any trouble finding it.
It's THE most popular spot and 30 min.
from Hobart GPO .. and they eat SUPs
for breakfast.
Just come over our way and we'll look
after you.

Well, in the name of getting a female paddling
group together, I chipped the frozen sleet off
the windscreen at 6 am and went to the bakery
for breakfast .. Shez arrived .. very keen .. so we
had our repast and under a cloudy sky, with sleet
still falling .. along with the odd snow flake we
went for a paddle at Carlton River.
Perfect conditions, no tide, no wind, it stopped
sleeting and pure snow started falling. Very quiet
and soft. Had a one hour session wondering where
all the others were.
Back in the car park we were going to take a photo
of the falling snow but it stopped .. then the sun
came out.
3 hour session at the carlton river superbank, followed by a couple of cascade pale ales in the new jimmy lewis limited edition stubby holder, life's pretty bloody good

looks like you have a good day for it, should paddle along to "stooges" for a few nice little runners.
Not sure when luke will bring Boards down next but the 9,2 will be left here and spending a lot of time down Carlton/Park way for those who want to give it a go

Tassie you have had that board in you back yard for the last 5 months, you must be pretty impressed with it if your travelling to the other end of the state to have a crack at the carlton river superbank on it, begs have a go to
Check out the body language on these 2
The bloke without the paddle has right of way; his hair is greyer!
Hey Guys,
Looking at jumping on the Spirit and coming over for a 3-4 day SUP trip in late Jan where is the best direction to head, St Helens, Hobart South Coast or Strachan way?
The trick with a tassie surf trip is watch the weather maps about a week out from when your leaving , every coast has sick surf I'd love to share some places i know but my mates would nail me but saying that it's much like down south vicco really , good waves , easy to get too ,hope you score , tassie really is a sup paradise so many good waves

tortise is pretty well spot on, but don't think you can drive round the place in a day. the south east is the most consistent, but north east can be good to, but does have times of flat spells, really depends what you want to do when your not surfing and its not like this every day
Thanks Tortise and Riverider, I worked off an on in Tassie, with mining companies and manufacturing in the 80 - 90s so I realise how big it is for sure, more about how long it takes to get there rather than the distance shown on the map.
I was chatting to Courtney about his trip and he was frothing, really on the search for 2-4ft not 40ft
We will start to head down the east coast on the way have some friends to catch up with in Bicheno and want to get a couple dives in.
A change is as good as a holiday
Heaps of good breaks between St. Helens & bicheno you would be unlucky not to get something and if there is a good easterly swell on which is possible that time of year you have all the points between orford and Swansea just down the rd.
