Time to get ready for the summers series, starting the 2 Sunday in December the club will be running a comp every month on the second Sunday of the month through to March when the winner of the series will be announced as the club champion, you don't have to ride a sup, we will have a champion in each division, whether it's sup, shortboard, longboard, grommet or what ever we get entries in, we are working on the finer details so stay tuned

i'm sure this will be hotly contested, my even see 2MT & Crusin make a return to home waters, seahippy has a "Stungun" on the way and word is going round that one mecca bowl veteran who hasn't been in the water for a few years has a sup on the way

What a great concept .. mixed teams with SUPs included ..
integrating, rather than separating .. could it be a first for
an Aussie boardriders club ?
Hope it goes well.
Hope to make it for at
least one event.

Thanks for the surf RR , good to see some waves again
Must admit the NSP really surprised me .
Hey tassie you came a day to early, overhead and offshore this arvo, put some quads in the NSP, made a huge difference

Not at the moment you Devil, but I will be there in February.
Can't wait. If I knew what Frothen was I might even be Frothen.

Tricky question, the nsp is way higher on the f & l scale as a quad over the thruster setup, but to compare it to the 8'7" stun gun is a bit hard, the waves were pretty hollow and I had a bit of trouble holding it higher on the faces with it's bigger rails, but a bigger guy might not have that problem, but you can paddle round all day without falling off, and it's easier to paddle out over the white water.
The southern beaches crew gave the 9'2" NSP coconut a good workout today, good comments from all, thanks to Damien from jaysails and Luke from Gsi for getting the board here, can't wait to try the dc/nsp 12'6" next time, the board is back at jaysails for a little while if anyone wants to contact Damien for a demo on the other side of the bay
Do believe we have 9 2 and 10 2 coco mats and an 11 foot NSP element boards available for demo in northern Tassie at What SUP shop Wilson St Burnie
If I ever get time will get to Burnie to check it out
Was a fun demo on the 9 2 coco mat at Carlton beach - nice spot

Tassie SUP will have a look at our budget, we may be able to cover travel cost of you and crusin to come back and compete + throw in some appearance money if you can get the time off

Hey Guys, I think the Dogman surf SUP in his local comp as well and it seems to work no problem.
Park Beach Boardriders are kicking off their Summer Competition Series on Sunday 15th December, this will be open to all surfcraft including SUPs and anyone can join the club, it doesn't matter where you live on the planet !
We may even see an appearance from the Tasmanian Team that recently competed at the National SUP Titles, but don't let that phase you as most will be treating it as a fun event or a warm up for the "Tassie SUP Winter Classic 2014"

A few of the park beach guys are keen to go up against the "Tassie Team" from the national sup titles
heard a story that none of the competitors from the Tasmanian state titles ( including the winners ) were invited by surfing Tasmania to attend the national titles
would be good to hear an explanation from surfing Tasmania , all seems very strange IMO.

TassieSUP has had some correspondence with Surfing Tasmania over what we think is a pretty big cock up by surfing Tasmania making their president the only member on the tasmanian SUP team at the National titles after he failed to enter the Tasmanian State Titles and then didn't bother to contact any of the competitors from the State Titles for expressions of interest to compete at the nationals.
Surfing Tasmania didn't supply any trophies or prizes for the State Titles, these were supplied by sponsors and tassieSUP from funds that we made from t shirt sales, with Surfing Tasmania retaining all entry & membership fees apart from the cost of a free t shirt for all competitors that TassieSUP arranged on behalf of Surfing Tasmania.
We are still waiting for Surfing Tasmania to post the final rankings from the State Titles on their web page as promised on several occasions, but in general we think SUP has been poorly treated by Surfing Tasmania.
So as far as TassieSUP is concerned we will run the Winter Classic with the assistance of Park Beach Boardriders Club, so it will be run by the rules, but if you want to surf in the State Titles you will need to contact Surfing Tasmania.
Surfing Tasmania are looking to have a SUP rep on their board and hopefully this will go someway to correct things and TassieSUP will be happy to work with that rep if they are happy to work with us and show a bit more support for SUP down here.
Yes it was a disappointing turnout of Tassie Suppers up at the Nationals, sorry to read about the lack of support you guys got, but I tell you, the bloke who was there was everywhere, he had it all covered from being Team Manager to the sole competitor and Representative of the apple Isle to drink'n the beers at the Currumbin club, man he had it covered....

I only wish that I could be there.

2MT has been chasing surfing tas for a while for some $ they owe him, jokingly I told him the president had used that for beer money at the nationals, sounds like I was spot on.
