Got up early and noticed the wind was not as bad as predicted, hit up Scarborough/Trigg stretch not expecting much.
Was actually a really fun session, pretty much had a bank to myself and scored some beautiful clean fast runners, eventually a couple of other SUP'ers came over and shared a few peaks.
The surf stance is working a treat, get myself in a good position then switch the stance and get in first gear with the short strokes and Woooooo Hooooo! Away I go! Still stoked with the view of the wave standing up when paddling in - love it.
Hope everyone else scored today!
what board were u on Souwester?
I took the 10' sunova style on its maiden voyage. Like a boat compared to my 7'11 speeed but super fun.
got a few small waves and did a paddle along coast for bit of fitness n feeling the board out.
hangin to get it on some winter waves...
this week looks awful. guess ill do office hours...
Was on a red Vex 10'. There was me and another bloke on A Vex, I had the hooded rashie on. We're you amongst the other blokes towards the point a bit more? I may have seen you out there.
Unlike Nozza's glassy paddle at HMB yesterday, this morning was a stonkin' 30-35 Northerly.
Managed to squeeze in an early Downwinder on the F16 with MJ , PT , Charlie UK & Sluggo.
Elwood back to HMB. 30 knots and 30c - it's always like this in Melbourne!!
Made it to work about 10.30. Need a nap now!
Pipe (the gisborne pipe)
I quite often surf Pipe too (the Miami Pipe)
our pipe is called pipe because in bigger swells has fast breaking crunchy hollow waves.....today was soft and flabby but still quite fun
Gerroa was awesome this morning tide coming in creek. Couple of knee high waves in the surf perfect for a battler.
3hr plus paddle within Port Hacking on the venom . Excellent tide for a long morning paddle before the heat set in

There's a storm water pipe there.
Got desperate and went for a quick paddle at Trigg, bloody hard work with 30km offshore ha ha
Probably won't do that again.....but as I said I was desperate
And make a vid .....vid is called "Crotch Shots" and was made in an act of solidarity with all other sup peep who do the crotch shot thing

cool beans. cant remember that day, think i started round the point then paddled down towards scarborough looking for little peaks.
Had some little fun ones off the point this morning on the log (sunova style 10).
mondays are generally the quietest of any (still crew out at 5 in the dark tho)
changed to single fin, 10" FCSII, heaps better. can actually turn the thing now, those side bites were way big. trying to get up front!
This has been the worst run of small swell in a long time. and forcast aint lookng much better.
i should dig out my go-pro.
Nice at makorori today when a couple of women long boarders that were my age arrived and got ready to paddle out......they were lean machines
Woolgoolga Creek - coastal lake that opens to the ocean sometimes - has been open for a couple of week - cleaned out and beautiful to paddle a couple of hours each side of high tide - even cracked a one foot high wave up the channel moutth for 30 metres or so till it fizzled out!
Steve
Flat today but it's had a run. For us about as cold as it gets. Air 32 and water 50. The early a bit clogged with the fog.
